ARTS & CRAFTS Arts & crafts are a fun way to bring the days lesson to life through creativity and play. Here are the crafts for each day to do as a family or on your own.

Creation Station Materials needed for this craft:

• Whatever craft materials you have laying around such as: o Markers o Popsicle sticks o Paper o Glitter (if you’re brave) o Glue o Whatever you’d like!

Instructions: 1) Set your materials up in the work area. 2) Make your own creation. Maybe it’s a rocket ship, animal, or musical instrument. The possibilities are endless! 3) Share your creation with others and proclaim, ‘It is good!’

DAY 1

Salt Painting Materials needed for this craft:

• Watercolor • Paintbrushes • Salt (rock salt works better than table salt) • Thick paper

Instructions: 1) Place a protective cover on the area that will be used for this craft. 2) Apply a thin layer of clean water on your paper. 3) Now create your masterpiece with the water color paints. 4) Put salt on your creation while it is still wet, either sprinkle all over,

or place it in the pattern of your choosing. The salt will absorb the watercolor and make interesting patterns

God’s Eye Materials needed for this craft:

• Popsicle sticks, dowels, or small, sturdy sticks from the yard • Yarn (as many colors as you want) • Scissors

Instructions: 1) Cross the sticks to form a cross. Keep them in place by wrapping a piece of yarn where the sticks cross. 2) Wrap your yarn around one stick, close to the center of the cross, and take it over to the next stick. Wrap it around

that stick, and take on to the next stick. Continue wrapping and winding in that fashion, rotating your God’s Eye craft as you work. Whether you wrap the yarn over the sticks or under doesn’t matter, as long as you are consistent.

3) To switch to a new color, simply cut your yarn, and tie it to a new piece of yarn. Trim the ends, and continue weaving. Be sure to tuck the knot to the back so that it doesn’t show.

4) When you’ve worked long enough that you’re nearing the ends of your craft sticks, stop weaving, and tie your string around the nearest stick and tuck away the knot.

DAY 3

Binoculars Materials needed for this craft:

• 2 toilet paper rolls • Glue or tape • Paint and paint brushes or markers • Yarn • Scissors or single hole punch

Instructions: 1) Decorate the toilet paper rolls using paint or markers and allow them to dry. 2) Glue or tape the toilet paper rolls together. 3) Cut your yarn to make a neck strap. 4) Either hole punch or cut a small X into each side. Push the yarn through each side and tie. 5) After they dry completely, enjoy looking at creation with your new binoculars!

DAY 4

Recycled Flower Bouquet Materials needed for this craft:

• Newspaper • Watercolor • Paint brushes • Glue • Pipe cleaners or sticks from your yard

Instructions: 1) Cut out flower or circle shapes of different sizes using the newspaper. 2) Paint the shapes using watercolor and allow it to dry. 3) Layer the shapes largest to smallest to create your flower and glue the layers together. 4) Glue pipe cleaner or sticks to the back to make the stem. 5) Make one to give away or many for a bouquet. Behold! You have taken old things and made something new!
