As far back as I can remember, creating art was just what I did. I grew up in an artistic and entrepreneurial family; one grandmother was a painter, another grandmother was a dancer and my grandfather was a wood sculptor. My mother studied set painting at one point in her life and is now the owner of a native art gallery.

My earliest memories include spending hours drawing while lying on my stomach on the floor of my grandmother’s art studio. She let me use her big markers and scrap poster paper. I loved it. Everywhere I went as a child I carried my bag with markers, colour pencils and colouring books. When asked what I would be when I grew up, I always said “I will be an artist”.

A few years ago I kept my daughter company at a painting course. It was fun, but more importantly, it was a catalyst. I literally woke one morning with an epiphany. I realized that it would be possible to paint just by changing how I think about it. I could re-engage with the path I started on so many years ago, I could blend my life as entrepreneur with my passion for painting.

My paintings blend my love of nature with my love of life. Through my life journey I’ve learned that art is life and life is art and that art is everywhere in life. I am amazed how art can bring joy to life and I hope that through my paintings I can bring joy to others lives.
