1. Branding ProQuest Administrator Module

1.1 Branding

Notes:

Welcome to this session on Branding using the ProQuest Administrator Module, or the “PAM”. The PAM allows administrators to customize the look and feel of the ProQuest interface by adding branding to the platform, and by including logos and custom text on printed and downloaded materials. To apply branding, you will need access to the PAM. For assistance with an administrator user id and password, please contact ProQuest Customer Service, at [email protected].

1.2 Session Objectives

During this session, you will learn to add your institution logo to the interface, and to include important custom text and links for your patrons. You will also learn how to employ widgets like instant messaging and “Ask a Librarian” chat, extending the opportunity for interaction between the library and researchers. Finally, you will determine how to include branding on cover pages and banners in saved files to print or download.

1.3 Access ProQuest Administrator Module

Notes:

To begin, login to the ProQuest Administrator Module at admin.proquest.com.

If you are responsible for administering more than one account, select the account you wish to customize from the Accounts menu at the top of the page.

Click the link labeled User Interface at the top left of the screen, then choose Branding.

1.4 Interface

Notes:

Within the Interface tab, administrators can add Inline Branding or Banner Branding. For Inline Branding, add up to two logos and two links as well as custom text to the ProQuest platform. Links can be either web page or email links. Click Add next near the logo, link, and custom text options to input the required information for creating these personalized elements.

1.5 Interface

Notes:

All Inline Branding elements appear in the footer area of the ProQuest platform. Inline elements also appear below the search area and on the document view page, provided no Banner Branding is present.

1.6 Interface: Banner Branding

Notes:

If you opt for Banner Branding, click Add Banner Logo or Banner Link and enter the required detail. Banner branding will appear at the very top of each ProQuest interface page. Additionally, if you use banner branding, the inline branding will display only in the footer.

1.7 Widgets

Notes:

Click the Widgets tab on the Branding page to add Widgets such as instant messaging and chat services like an “Ask a Librarian” chat. These can be included as a pop-up window opening from a link in the footer in the ProQuest platform and in the no results box. Additionally it can be embedded in the result page. Click Add Widget on the Widgets Branding page to enter widget specifications and create the widget.

1.8 Prints and Downloads

Notes:

The Cover Page tab on the Branding page of the ProQuest Administrator Module allows administrators to apply their institutional logo and/or custom text to printed and downloaded materials from ProQuest. Click Add to insert the address of the logo image file or specify custom text. The logo will appear at the top of the printed and downloaded materials.
