This new British artist shown off her talents in her hit single ‘Heartache’. El Jay arrives to the studio with smile planted on her purple lips, with a java chip frappuccino in her left hand and her Blackberry flashing in her right. Her outfit says a lot about her personality and how laid back she is. Her outfit consists of a white vest top with a large cross design on the front and, a black skater skirt with black ripped tights and her black studded shoes completed her outfit. She sat in front of us as happy as anyone could be and started talking about the latest ‘The Secret Circle’ episode that she saw last night whilst she commented on how gorgeous Thomas Dekker was. Hi El. What made you bring an urban style album out? Hey Urban Vibe! Well I always loved a new music vibe and wanted to show that music is not just rap, pop and rock genre music that can become popular Its a new generation a new sound. What artists did you look up to whilst doing this album? I really enjoy listening to Demi Lovato, she is one of the artists out today that I admire. Demi shows her strength with her coping with her problems, she shows that nobody is perfect and her songs speak directly to people. I think she’s completely underrated as an artist, ‘Skyscraper’ should of been number one in the UK. I agree she’s incredible. Have you ever met anyone that made you stand there completely in awe or who would you like to meet? I actually met Demi Lovato the other week at Coachella. I spent the week in America and had a ticket to attend so I went with my sister. We was watching PULP perform and dancing about after having a couple (laughs) of drinks and Demi was with her friend and she made her way over to us and after she said ‘Hi’ I just couldn’t speak. I was starstruck when I met Demi. I was literally shaking. She was really sweet to me, she said she loved ‘Heartache’. She made my day... year! I can see that she did! What artists did you listen to when you were growing up?

Hi El. What made you bring an urban style album out?

Hey Urban Vibe! Well I always loved a new music vibe and wanted to show that music is not just rap, pop and rock genre music that can become popular

Its a new generation a new sound.

When I was younger I loved to sing at the top of my lungs to ‘Your Gorgeous’ by Baby Bird. My mum used to tell everyone and embarrass me over it at parties in front of my friends, but hey I was young! I grew up listening to 90’s boybands mostly. Backstreet Boys and Boyzone were my favourite and I will still listen to them. (Starts to sing ‘Everybody’ by Backstreet Boys to us).

(Laughs) I can see you are a fan of them. How did you take it when you heard Stephen Gately died?

I was distraught! I think my sister took the news the worst. She loved Stephen (Gately) when she was younger, when she found out his sexuality (1999) all those years ago she was devastated, she was only 9 at that point too!

I think it shocked the world too! Who was your first famous crush?

My first ever famous crush was on James Bourne from Busted. I used to love Busted when I was

attending primary school, I used to collect all them annuals that they bought out each year. James was always my favourite. He was like the baby of the group that sat back and let Charlie and Matt have the limelight. I still remember going to see ‘Thunderbirds Are Go’ at the cinemas just to watch their music video at the end.

Speaking of boys, are you dating anyone right now?

(laughs) Actually despite rumours, I am not. I am single.

No guys in the picture then?

You never know there could be (winks at us)

What was your first kiss like?

It was so awkward! He was much older and had girlfriends before and I hadn’t had any boyfriends.

First kisses always are! Where did it take place?

Under a bridge! We were out with our friends and it was raining, it was our first date... I think. And we just kissed, probably a good moment and sounds romantic but it was horrible.

At least it’s over and done with now. What celebrity would you not mind kissing?

Oh that’s a hard one! I can’t choose. Damn... Munro Chambers! OR... Tyler Blackburn... OR Thomas Dekker... OR maybe Stephen Jerzak (Laughs) I have a lot of crushes.

(Laughs) Well thank you for joining us today in the studio today El Jay. We hope and wish the very best for you and your career and that we will see you soon! HEARTACHE OUT NOW.
