Competition in arts

Everybody must have seen one of Michelangelo’s paintings or one of Stephen King’s movies. Could you compare them? I think not, because each and every piece of art is a masterpiece itself; you can’t compare a painting with a movie or a song with a sculpture.

To begin with, art is not only a way you can express your feelings and thoughts, but also one that shows your talent, originality and creativity. Being the mirror of the artist’s soul, it shouldn’t be used to categorize the artists. This is the reason why I am of the opinion that competitive talent show’s should be banned and people should appreciate any of the artist’s works, because it has no twin. Taking as an example a painting, one can not paint it the same way twice due to the intensity of his feelings in that moment and to his mood.

Moreover, if you are an artist, it is no point in competing with anybody but yourself, because one of the artist’s biggest enemy is no one but himself. How you progress day by day is way more important than how others do . You should permanently try to become better than you were a day ago; you should work round the clock to get that piece of art you’re desire and you should do your best to be the best.

To sum up, I firmly believe that people should learn that they do not have to compare works from different fields of art, but those on the same subject.
