Article 6 of the Constitution!

What is article 6 of the U.S. Constitution?

• Article 6 deals with debts, oaths and supremacy.

• Debts and engagements entered into before the adoption of the United States constitution will be valid against the United States under the Constitution.

Article 6

• Supremacy: this constitution and the law of the United states, which shall be made in pursuance there of and all treaties made, or which will be made, under the authority of America shall be the supreme law of the land. The judges, in every state shall be bound there by anything in the constitution or laws of any state to the contrary not with standing.

Article 6

• Oaths: Senators, Representatives, State Legislatures, and executive and judicial Officers shall make an oath or affirmation to the United States Constitution, but no religious test is required as a qualification.

Current Event

On February 5, 2011, Arizona was trying to find myriad opportunities to take back power from the federal government because they believe that the federal government is overstepping

its authority.

Relation

I chose this current event because it deals with article 6. It related because it involves the

supreme law of the land and the supremacy law states that federal statutes and U.S

treaties are the supreme laws of the land and that federal law must prevail over any conflicting or inconsistent state law.
