    ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ AMERICAN METEOROLOGICAL SOCIETY

MEMBERSHIP Beth Farley, Director, Member Services, would like to take an opportunity to remind students about the value of being a member the American Meteorological Society (AMS). In addition to receiving a number of benefits such as discounts on all AMS publications, reduced fees for conferences and workshops, and access to rewarding job and internship opportunities, AMS members help shape the future of the profession through their involvement in volunteer opportunities and nationally-recognized programs.

Annual dues for students enrolled at least half-time is just $20. Upon graduation, Student Members may take advantage of our Early Career Dues rate, currently less than half the full Member rate. This Early Career dues option is only offered to those who are AMS Student Members at the time of graduation, so it’s important for students to join the Society before they graduate if they hope to take advantage of the special rate. The flyer located at http://www.ametsoc.org/memb/fall2013student.pdf provides information on the many benefits of Society membership and also links to their online membership application.
