DESCRIPTION
Women's Network (maga)zine, Autumn 2009TRANSCRIPT
Editor’s Letter Thank you for picking up the autumn issue of Artemis, the Women’s Network zine! The Women’s Network exists to represent all female students of the University of Nottingham. We provide our members with support and a safe space for discussion and debate. In order to represent women on campus we highlight, challenge and campaign against sexist discrimination and attitudes faced by women. This is your network and you can get as involved as you wish. Any ideas you have for the Women’s Network can be implemented; for example, if organizing is your thing, then you can come along to our weekly committee meetings to get involved that way. We love meeting new members and seeing new people get involved, so come along any of our events that take your fancy. The Women’s Network is here to represent you, so let us know what we can do to represent you better! Artemis is the Women’s Network zine (for more information on zines, see Egg’s article on page 5), and all women are encouraged to get involved. You can do so in any way, by writing articles, submitting artwork, designing the layout or helping with the construction. Remember, this is YOUR magazine and I hope you enjoy this opportunity to let your voice be heard. This edition’s theme is 'female identity/what it is to be a woman', and I’m thrilled with the quality of work I’ve received; I hope you enjoy it as well. I’m hoping that Artemis will continue to grow throughout the year, so I am always happy to receive any submissions and give guidance. If you have anything to submit or have any ideas for Artemis, please do not hesitate to contact me at [email protected]. I’m always grateful, challenged and inspired to be sharing your thoughts and experiences. Catherine Elms
