Letter of Introduction To whom it corresponds:
Thank you for taking the time to review my portfolio. Here you will find the depth of event decoration and planning experience I have achieved. Working for 16 years in an innovative library planning and coordinating a variety of literacy and library fundraising projects and events, I have become comfortable in executing community outreach, organizing events, developing projects, assuring programs continuum and enhancing the results of services already supported by the library literacy services. I know the mechanics of public relations and advertisement such as: community TV and radio stations, newspapers contacts to whom to send press release or PSA’s. I can add to those my knowledge in social networks like LinkedIn, Facebook, twitter and blogs; the use of Apps and online platforms like Eventbrite, Constant Contact and VolunteerMatch. In addition, I have basic knowledge of html that come so handy when trying to update a website.A personal interview would allow me to demonstrate my expertise. I look forward to hearing from you so that we can schedule a meeting and be able to elaborate further.
Respectfully,
Imelda Pacheco-Pérez

Holidays’ opening parade
The Library Director, Elizabeth Martinez, honored my talent by using a bookmobile parade picture on the holiday Christmas cards that year.
Salinas kiddy Kapers ParadeJuly 2012
Every year the Salinas Public Library is part of the Kiddie Kapers Parade and it is represented by the Literacy Center’s Families for Literacy Program. Young volunteers from high school help guide the children that are part in the parade. This year we won 3rd place.

Through my supervision, expertise and with the help of Central Coast College and Library Adult Reading Program volunteers, we were able to decorate and recreate the ambiance from this era. We broke attendance record for the first time.
Snappy the tortoise
Snappy is a 9 ft statue made from recycled boxes and paper maché. The statue represents Snappy the library mascot who is very famous tortoise. He can be viewed live from his website, which recently broke the record of 1 million hits. In hopes to encourage the love for reading in children, the snappy statue holds new and seasonal book every month.
Day of the Dead displayNovember 2009
Día de Los MuertosDue to my love of art, I decided to choose the most significant details from the Mexican culture. Most of the details found in the displays were hand crafted. Shown through this display, you will find a very traditional and colorful altar.
Day of the Dead displayNovember 2010
A beautiful display representing the richness of a culture that sees death as passage, a cyclical venue, where loved ones never leave us. On this day loved ones join us to share those things they once enjoyed.
