Getting Mentally Prepared

� First try to be completely clear about thetopic

� Read it. Study it.. and Understand it.

� If there is any problem understanding thetopic, please contact with professor Mind it, it is you who will have to present. and this

will not be presented before ALL your classmates..

So, isnt it better to get rough words at professorsoffice room than being embarrassed at the roomfilled with your friends.. (including your dear ones!!!)

So, dont worry about that.

Have courage to face everything expected and

unexpected

Since, you WILL have to present today or tomorrow,why for tomorrow????

Make the job done.

And have the next day for movie.or chatting with

It may also happen that, you may become sick. oryour notebook may face problem, or the professorsmood may be anxious.

Preparing Slides

� Next is preparing the PowerPoint slides.

� Must not be too much colorful

Beauty of simplicity is the most gorgeous.

� Use themes which doesnt contain

excessive images. Pls note the term

excessive

There should have color. But not too much colorfulwhich gets emphasis over your subject.

Preparing Slides (contd)

� The most important aspect is that,presentation is not report.

� Dont place huge text over the slides.

� Better to use K ey points. Mind it, the central point of presentation is

presenter and his presentation.. Not the slide

Whenever you find that, audience are not interested

on your mouth and art of presentation, and passingmost of the time by looking at the projector skimmingthe slides, then you may be sure that, yourpresentation is not making any sense.

� Key point is important because, whenever

you are moving through slides you have to

illustrate the topic of the slide that is being

displayed at real time, without having anyextended opportunity to read that side and

then clarifying.

So, make the slide titles such that, you may get a

complete sense of the entire slide.

Coloring i.e. emphasizing formatting may also be

helpful.

� Slides must contain slide numbers. People sitting in front of you will ask question and do .

referring the page numbers.

Slides doesnt bearing slide number is not a slide at all!!!

� Slides may contain your name andorganization/university/institution/department/discipline/project as footer.

� It is not logical to put dates if you are presenting infront of audience, since, they know what the dateis.. They also know the date in Bengali and even at Hijri

Calendar. that you probably dont know

That is, they are much more intelligent and smart Ha Ha Ha

� At the very first/second slide you should

must specify

Who you are (Your full name)?

Whats your official/academic identity (like if student,specify that you are a student and also include your

student ID)?

Your department/discipline/institution and university

on chronological order. Your contact email/cell(optional).

� Dont use any font that is not available at

your class-rooms computers.

� Animations and Slide Transitions would not

be such that, it annoys the audience. Animations and Transitions should also not be timed

in such a way that makes you wait for the completion

of the transitions.

� One thing,

All the slides should must contain the same theme,

same fonts, same transition.

If you want to bring heterogeneity, then all the slidesshould be separate

� Since people will ask you questions from

the topics you present and from that, you

have included into the slide, you have a

greater level of control on the span of contents.

So, decide the level up to which you want to clarify

� Now, number of slides

It is not actually any specific criteria

If you have a good number of slides, and you are

confident to discuss about all the slides within theallocated time without skipping , then you are

welcome

� When you have a number of slides try to

cover each topic on one slide.

� For content distribution, make sure that, all

the slides contain almost same amount of content

That is, never do such that, one slide is jam-packed

with text, which the next one contains simply

two/three lines.

Preparing yourself

� Do you wear blazer when you go for

swimming ????

So, when you are going for presentation, dress

yourself formally. Formally doesnt mean hiring blazers, shirts, shoes

and ties and become.

Just have a clean dress that bears the testimony that

you are providing importance on the subject. Never loose your style . If you have panjabi.

or hijab that itself is smart as well

Presenting on the stage

� Be a man!!!

� Be bold enough .

� In group presentation, if even you groupmakes any slight mistake, dont try toexplicitly clarify or focus that.. Dont try to clarify that your friend is a skipping

guy

� And finally. At the time of presentationthink that, The stage is yours

� Mind it, your evaluators will not only

evaluate your knowledge, but also yourself

as well.

So, never show any objection/in-appreciation with thepeople sitting in front of you. May be you know

better than them.
