Noteworthy Cards At Harvest Fest Our Noteworthy Cards were once again

on display at the Anderson Center Har-

vest Festival and Open House (Oct. 18).

We were excited to see so many families

and staff members stopping by the booth. I

am happy to say that our cards were very

well received!

A special “Thank You” to Tiffany S. for

setting up and managing the booth. Thanks

Tiffany!!!

We still have packages of cards (8 cards to

a pack) available for a $10.00 donation.

For information please contact Rosalind

Williams at X1620.

Spiders During the month of October students

created a variety of Fall and Hallow-

een themed images, including the Spi-

ders that you see here.

The background was created by color-

ing and painting on white paper. After it

was dry, students used a black crayon

and a pattern to “rub” the web on the

background.

The Spider was made out of paper that

had been colored and painted. Later,

students used templates and markers to

create the body and legs of the spider.

The spider was than glued on the com-

pleted background. Yarn was used to

simulate web being spun by the spider.

Cat Masks

Artist Birthdays for November November 14 — Claude Monet (1840)

November 15 — Georgia O’Keeffe (1887)

November 26 — Charles Schulz (1922)

November 28 — William Blake (1757)

Spooky “Black “ Cats The final image in the series of Halloween

themed images that the students created,

were these “Black Cat.” They were com-

pleted in late October.

The image depicts a whimsical cat standing on

top of a full moon with stars in the back-

ground. We hope you like them!!

These “Cat Masks” were created to be hung in a window

for Halloween. The eyes, nose, and mouth of each are cut

out to allow the sun to shine through them, like it does in a

stained-glass window.

Kyler P’s (Rm. 312) “Black Cat”

can be seen at right.
