Creativity is essential to all living things. According to the Encyclopedia of Educational

Psychology, Creativity is among the most valued yet least understood of educational psychology

constructs. It defines creativity as the interaction among aptitude, process, and environment by

which an individual or group is able to produce originaland adaptive(useful and meaningful)

interpretations, ideas, behaviors, solutions, or products. In an emotional sense, creativity taes

dedication, the ability to mae a leap of faith, and to be persistent enough to push past those who

don!t agree with the creator!s beliefs or ideas. According to "eil #. $alind!s encyclopedia,

though case studies of eminent creators and investigations of everyday forms of creative

e%pression, researchers have demonstrated the importance of adaptiveness and sociocultural

conte%t. #ohn Coltrane!s creativity was influenced by his vast nowledge and mastery of musical

standards and instrumental techni&ues. Also, sociocultural conte%t played a role in determining

the originality and adaptiveness of some creative body of wor. 'uring my preparation and time

in creating my masterpieces, a lot of variables that affected my creativity came into play. It

was very difficult to create art from a mere three lines at first. I had to sit and thin for at least

twenty minutes before maing my three wors of art. Eventually the most pertinent thought that

came to my head was* +ow many different ways can three lines be represented I managed to

construct illustrations where I only piced up my hand three times or tried to mae the focal

point of the images have three lines run through it. I definitely felt encumbered because of my

lac of nowledge and adaptiveness the article was describing. I now admire and respect the

stone wor of -ichelangelo because of the preparation, sill, and deep thought it re&uired. I feel

fortunate I had the ability to erase necessary mistaes and it only shows how impressive his wor

was because of the inability to correct a stone error.
