My Response

• My reaction to Ai Weiwei’sSunflower seeds, was that something so distinguished when see alone or up close looked so different when put together with the same object over 100 million times

• The ideas and qualities that inspired my response were the repetition that was used and the choice of composition material. The sunflower seeds are well known up close but from far away they all blend together.

• Information– Jessica Downs – Lost Penney – 2014

My Response

• My reaction to El Anatsui’spiece was that I thought it was innovative to use common object like bottle caps to form a piece that can reflect an historical event by the movement created by the placement of the caps

• The ideas and qualities that inspired me include using the similar techniques of creating movement throughout my piece
