A) Extracted ion chromatogram m/z 343.118 of the orange EO n°35 LC-QTOF mass

chromatogram at low energy (4 V) showing two peaks at RT 7.16 and 7.40 min.

B) Similarities between isotopic patterns suggest that these two peaks correspond to

different isomers of the molecular formulae C19H18O6 (Mexact = 342.1103).

C) Mass spectra of compounds 1 and 2 obtained at high energy (10 – 45 V) shows

common fragments at m/z 153.0188, 181.0137, 285.076, 313.0716 and 328.094 that

suggests this two compounds are isomers. The fragment ions m/z 328.094 [M+H-

CH3]+ and 313.0716 [M+H-2CH3]+ are consistent with the data published by Dugo et

al. However, for the ion m/z 313.0716 the use of the high resolution suggests a loss of

2CH3 (-30.046 Da) instead of a loss of OCH2 (-30.011) or OCH3 (-31.018). In

addition, the ion m/z 285.076 was identified as [M+H-CH3-CO]+. These elements

allow to propose a highly probable hypothesis for compound 2 as an isomer of

tetramethoxyflavone.

A) Extracted ion chromatogram m/z 403.1393 of the orange EO n°35 LC-QTOF mass

chromatogram at low energy (4 V) showing three peaks at RT 7.05, 7.52 and 8.29 min.

B) Similarities between isotopic patterns suggest that these three peaks correspond to

different isomers of the molecular formulae C21H22O8 (Mexact = 402.1315).

C) Mass spectra of compounds 1, 2 and 3 obtained at high energy (10 – 45 V) shows

common fragments at m/z 327.086, 373.0923, and 388.1154 that suggests this three

compounds are isomers. The fragment ions m/z 373.0923 [M+H-2CH3]+ is consistent

with the data published by Dugo et al.. However, the use of the high resolution

suggests a loss of 2CH3 (-30.046 Da) instead of a loss of OCH2 (-30.011) or OCH3 (-

31.018). In addition, the ions 388.1154 and 327.086 were identified as [M+H-CH3]+

and [M+H-CH3-CO]+, respectively. These elements allow to propose a highly

probable hypothesis for compound 2 as an isomer of hexamethoxyflavone.
