PRODUCT DATA SHEET - 10327  ARS-PERMA-SET ROOF ADHESIVE PRODUCT DESCRIPTION ARS-PERMA-SET ROOF ADHESIVE is a high performance, rubber modified roofing adhesive that is applied directly from the container (5 gallon pail or 55 gallon drum). It is weather and water –resistant and contains adhesion promoters to increase bonding strength and overall performance. This product is used as an inte rply adhesive as well as a surface coating to ensure roof water tightness and adhere surfacing granules, aggregate or gravel. When adhering roof plies, it penetrates the plies to create a fused, mon olithic system. When compared to hot-applied materials, ARS-PERMA-SET ROOF ADHESIVE eliminates such problems as rapid cooling of molten adhesive due to wind and temperature, fumes from the heating process and the dependence on accurate kettle operation. RECOMMENDED USES ARS-PERMA-SET ROOF ADHESIVE can be used to adhere most bitumen based roofing materials. It is an interply adhesive and surfacing mastic for the construction of cold-applied American Roofing Systems membranes. ARS- PERMA-SET ROOF ADHESIVE can be used with fully coated base sheets us ing glass, polyester or combination reinforcements. It can also be used as an adhesive for modified bituminous membranes. ADVANTAGES AND BENEFITS Cold applied – thus eliminating open flames and kettles Easily spray applied Asbestos free Complies with current VOC regulations Classified by Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. ® as to an external fire exposure (Pending) Less sensitive to weather conditions than water-based products Modified with rubber to improve elongation properties, fatigue resistance and low temperature performance. Manufactured with recycled materials which can result in LEED points INSTALLATION Preparation: All surfaces must be clean and dry. When used as a surface coating for maintenance applications, remove all loose gravel, silt and any other unbound surfacings. It is suggested this work be done with a wet roof vacuum. Inspect the roof and repair all su rface defects. Replace and repair all flashings a nd surrounding masonry. Prime perlite, uncoated fiberboard and other porous materials with an asphalt or water-based primer. Choice of primer is dependent on VOC c ompliancy requirements and job specifications. Application Details: When adhesive is used with fiberglass plies, the adhesive must be sprayed to av oid distortion of the ply/sheets. Other methods (e. g., squeegee or brush) will result in ridging of the glass ply sheets. A Warm-Master heat transfer unit can be used to warm the adhesive to maximize interply adhesion, produce uniform application thickness and increase production rates.  Glass reinforced base s heets must be cut in 15 – 20 foot lengths and relaxed for at least 30 minutes at 72° F (22° C). In cooler conditions (below 72º F), longer relaxation times are necessary before installation. Do not reroll relaxed sheets before they are put in place. Polyester and combination base sheets need not be precut.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

ARS-PERMA-SET ROOF ADHESIVE is a high performance, rubber modified roofing adhesive that is applied directlyfrom the container (5 gallon pail or 55 gallon drum). It is weather and water –resistant and contains adhesionpromoters to increase bonding strength and overall performance. This product is used as an interply adhesive aswell as a surface coating to ensure roof water tightness and adhere surfacing granules, aggregate or gravel. RECOMMENDED USES

ARS-PERMA-SET ROOF ADHESIVE can be used to adhere most bitumen based roofing materials. It is an interplyadhesive and surfacing mastic for the construction of cold-applied American Roofing Systems membranes. ARS-PERMA-SET ROOF ADHESIVE can be used with fully coated base sheets using glass, polyester or combinationreinforcements. It can also be used as an adhesive for modified bituminous membranes.

INSTALLATION

Preparation: All surfaces must be clean and dry. When used as a surface coating for maintenance applications, remove all loose gravel, silt and any other unbound surfacings. It is suggested this work be done with a wet roofvacuum. Inspect the roof and repair all surface defects. DRYING TIME CONSIDERATIONS AND COVERAGE

ARS-PERMA-SET ROOF ADHESIVE requires embedment of a minimum of 400 lbs. per square of aggregateimmediately into the wet adhesive. If granules are to be used as surfacing, a coverage rate of 5 gallons per 100square feet is to be applied. When used as an interply adhesive, ARS-PERMA-SET ROOF ADHESIVE is applied ata rate of 2.0 gallons per 100 square feet. If applied too heavily, blistering or slippage may occur. For use as a surfacing coating, ARS-PERMA-SET ROOF ADHESIVE is applied at 5-7 gallons per square whengravel is to be applied either for new construction or as a maintenance coating.

PACKAGING

ARS-PERMA-SET ROOF ADHESIVE is available in 5 gallon (18.9 liter) pails and 55 gallon (208.19 liter) drums.

STORAGE LIFE

One (1) year from date of manufacture when stored in the unopened original container.

PRECAUTIONS

• Perlite board or uncoated fiberboard must be primed before applying ARS-PERMA-SET ROOF ADHESIVE

• Do not use in conjunction with styrene or phenolic insulation.• Glass base sheets used as ply sheets must have a minimum weight of 28 lbs.• Do not use with ply sheets which are lightly coated, such as Type IV or VI glass plies.• When spraying, use precautions to avoid drift and overspray by determining wind direction and setting up

barriers.
