On Feb. 19, the Arkansas state legislature passed

legislation protecting the names of concealed carry

permit holders from being released under state

Freedom of Information Act requests. On Feb. 22,

Arkansas Lt. Gov. Mark Darr signed the bill into law(http://www.gopusa.com/news/2013/02/25/concealed-carry-

law-signed-in-arkansas/).

In the time between the passage of the legislation and its being signed into law,Arkansas

Business editor Gwen Moritz took advantage of her one last chance to post the names of

concealed permit holders for all to see.

The outcry over the publication of the names was go great, thatArkansas Business quickly

took the list down.

protected from many stand points. Will guarantee you, it impacts the gun-free homes more than the homes that

Great insights. All the more reason we MUST stand up and be counted. I have always had a slight

uncomfortableness and fear about the conceal carry permit as you stated. But it is the lessor of evils.

You are right, it could be used against us. But, if we stand up and stand together, is it a powerful

concept also. Do not be ashamed of being a law abiding citizen. Do not let them direct the

conversation. They are counting on the normally quiet, good natured, souls of the country, the ones

that work and pay taxes and support the other 50% of the country, to just be recipients of their talking

Not likely. The bill that was passed was to exempt that information from Freedom of Information Act

(FOIA) requests. As the info has already been released, there is nothing illegal about redistributing it

UNLESS there is also an incitement to violence or harassment, as far as I know.
