The list of most-liked world leaders on Facebook released by the social network shows that Modi is second only to US President Barack Obama and is followed by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Modi’s Facebook post on May 15 with his mother at his official residence at Delhi’s Race Course Road remains on top with 1.6 million likes, 1.2 lakh shares and 34,000 comments. “My mother returns to Gujarat. Spent quality time with her after a long time & that too on her 1st visit to RCR,” he had written in the post which was accompanied by three photo- graphs of the mother-son duo. The Prime Minister’s col- leagues are also not far behind in making their presence felt in the virtual world. Out of a total of 50 cabinet ministers along with ministers with independent charge, 47 of them have verified Facebook presence. During the last one year, the top performing ministers on Facebook include Home Minister Rajnath Singh, HRD minister Smriti Zubin Irani, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and Food processing minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal.(PTI) Decisions on visas to Pakistan nationals to be speeded up NEW DELHI, May 26: Decisions on granting visas to Pakistani nationals are likely to be speeded up by the Indian Government by simplifying the necessary processes. Union Home Ministry offi- cials are working on simplify- ing processes for "quick deci- sion making" on visa applica- tions by Pakistani nationals, official sources said today. The matter regarding grant of visas by India was discussed between Home Secretary Rajiv Mehrishi and Indian High Commissioner to Pakistan Gautam Bambawale here today. Both the officials are under- stood to have discussed issues relating to the two countries. The sources said the officials discussed ways to upgrade exist- ing facilities at its Attari immigra- tion check point in Punjab. The Home Ministry is seek- ing to ensure that a decision whether to grant a visa or not to a Pakistani national is taken in a minimum time and its modalities are understood to have discussed during the 30-minute-long meet- ing, the sources said.(PTI)
