Arena Style Rink Seating Configurations
A rink can be constructed with seating on one or both sides and/or at one or both ends of the rink.
The upper tier of seating could be an extension of a second floor level anchored
by the areas at both ends of the rink for training facilities.

A side view of seating on both sides of the rink
Option A This space would also be used for USFS tests and competition judges and officials.
Layout on the opposite side to seating.
When seating is provided only on one side, the opposite side will require a space approximately 8 feet wide for access to the penalty boxes, announcer booth, and score board controls.
. Option B If funding allows a wider free span, arena style seating can be provided on both sides of the rink. This optimum situation for a multi-purpose ice skating facility has seating with locker/dressing rooms and public restrooms under the seating.
Arena seating provides an unobstructed view from all areas of the rink. An excellent
example of arena seating is the Bowdoin College ice arena. Its seating capacity is 1,900.

Exeter-West Greenwich Hockey Club, Inc
The Exeter-West Greenwich Hockey Club Inc. is a non-profit, 501(c) (3) Corporation focused on promoting the health and recreational aspects of ice-skating and ice hockey. For the past almost 3 years we have been making preliminary plans to build an indoor, year round ice rink in the Exeter or West Greenwich area. Depending on final plans and other factors the project cost will be somewhere between 3.0 and 6 million dollars. Our plan is to develop a self-supporting non-profit facility.

A resurfacing machine is essential to the operation of any ice rink
A fully surrounding seating plan is necessary for major professional sporting events and preferred for university/college and minor league sports teams.
