East Texas Medical Center is a part of the ETMC Regional Center in Tyler. This state of the art hospital is currently undergoing a major expansion project which has been startedas of March of 2010. Expanding its already extensive medical care with the latest of diagnostic, therapeutic and rehab services.The emergency and trauma center is the first to be expanded in the new addition. ETMC isnow home to it’s own helipad with care flight and will be expanded to two helipads.ww.etmc.org
Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center Opened in 1997.The Edwin L. Cox, Jr., Texas Fresh-water Fisheries Center (TFFC) combines visitation and outdoor education with a produc-tion fish hatchery. Its mission is to provide an educational, entertaining visitor experiencethat promotes freshwater sport fishing and the enhancement, conservation and stewardshipof aquatic resources in Texas. Henderson County Fairpark– The fairpark complex has approx 90,000 visitors a year andthe facility is booked for a wide variety of weekend and weekday events including, Best inTexas Barrel Racing, college and high school rodeos, Nat’l Santa Gertrudas Show, CattleBarron’s Ball by Elder Dodge, USTRC Team Roping, US Pony Show. The Athens Cain Center- The Cain Center sits nestled in the heart of the beautiful, 85-acreCain Park, surrounded by tennis courts, fishing ponds and a walking-jogging trail. In 1983,the Cain Foundation built and donated this unique facility to the people of HendersonCounty. Since then, it has served all of East Texas, both as a fitness center with its manyexercise areas, and as a civic center with rooms available for a wide variety of functions.
