De- spite my wretched condition, He still wants to save me be- cause He is not willing that anyone perish but all come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). What makes this possible? God’s grace, His desire to save me and do good things for me because He loves me. I will always be the sinner who needs mercy. He will always be the merciful God whose grace offers salvation to me. THIS GRACE

I stand before you a sinner, one who is embarrassed by the number of times I have violated God’s word with my ac-

tions. Somehow “I’m sorry” just isn’t enough. I just do not see how I can make up for sinning against what Jesus did

for me on the cross. My sin is like spitting in the blood that pooled on the ground beneath his nail pierced feet.

Yet I have hope. I have the promise of heaven, the sal-vation God offers to people like me who have sinned. De-

spite my wretched condition, He still wants to save me be-cause He is not willing that anyone perish but all come to

repentance (2 Peter 3:9). What makes this possible? God’s grace, His desire to

save me and do good things for me because He loves me. I will always be the sinner who needs mercy. He will always

be the merciful God whose grace offers salvation to me. This grace He has for me is overwhelming. It’s also for eve-

ryone who lives. Jesus loves you and wants to save you by His grace. Let Him

“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God” (Ephesians 2:8)
