Finding true purpose for your life.TRANSCRIPT
ARE YOU READY TO CHANGE?
Most people settle into a comfort zone! You can even get comfortable in a terrible life, filled with painful and hurting experiences, and stay there because you will not break through and change.
Today I offer you a way out, I would like to offer you a changed life!
We need to recognize that we pretend!
We pretend that everything is OK.We pretend that we can handle whatever comes our way.We pretend that we do not need God.We think we are good enough the way we are.
But it is all pretend!Everything is not OK.We cannot handle everything that comes our way.We do need God.We are not good enough the way we are.
John the Baptist calls on us to repent “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!” Repentance is the determination of leaving the old way behind and going a new way. It is a decision to turn away from what is wrong (in word, thought or deed) and enjoy the newness that God wants to bring into our lives. Here we are told how to have a relationship with God. It begins with taking a true look at God and self and agreeing to the change that must come.
He tells us about Jesus. You see, this is the good news that John was announcing. Their sin (wrong doing in word, thought or deed) was going to be taken away. Wherever your sin or my sin exists, there Jesus, triumphs. John, all the time, has been pointing us to Jesus. “Behold! Jesus = the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!”
And as Jesus arrives, the promise is once again fulfilled, but in a much more powerful way. For Jesus would take away the guilt of sin. Jesus was going to take away the power that sin has over us.Jesus was going to clean up the pollution that sin has on our daily living.Jesus was going to be our sacrifice on the CROSS, and thus satisfy our need of punishment!Jesus was our way to God!
Are you willing to change today? Well turn to Christ Jesus to give
you a new life! “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new” 2
Corinthians 5:17.
