Call it luck or fate, our journey started nine years ago when we were introduced to each other at a 4th of July dance by Amy’s cousin. Her husband knew Joe through the National Guard, and they thought we would be the perfect match! After seriously dating for a year, he popped the question! We were married at Amy’s country church on October 6, 2012 and had the reception and dance at Joe’s hometown 35 miles away. Over these nearly seven blessed years, we have shared countless moments of laughter and joy but have also faced obstacles that have strengthened our bond and have helped our love grow more and more each day. We truly are each other’s best friend.

We currently live in Joe’s hometown with our faithful dog Hunter. Despite his name, he does NOT like hunting (gun shots scare him). He LOVES swimming and playing fetch with us in our backyard. Our home sits on a corner lot in a quiet neighborhood in a small South Dakota town of around 1,500 people. We both love small town life and having the support from our close-knit community. Joe purchased our home in 2010 and has made several improvements and updates while Amy continues to add more landscaping with plants and flowers. We love our home in town, but we hope to buy a small acreage just outside of town where we can build and expand our family.

On a typical evening when we are not working, you will find us together going four-wheeling, spending time in our backyard, and attending sporting events in our home town. Occasionally, our kitchen becomes a dance floor when a good country love song comes on. Our weekends are filled with events with family, friends, community, and church. We make time for a few skiing trips in the winter and boating/camping in the summer. We love to travel and see new places, but we always appreciate spending time at home.

Joe works in residential construction with his father in their family owned carpentry business. He recently returned from a deployment to Iraq with the local Army National Guard unit. Amy is a registered nurse at our community’s rural hospital and enjoys the variety of patients and situations she encounters there.

Amy is a tall skinny blond with naturally wavy hair and a sweet smile. She loves music and has a beautiful singing voice. She can be found singing around the house, singing with her mom and sister in her home church or playing our piano. I can already hear her beautiful voice soothing our future children to sleep.

Amy is one of those rare souls that likes cleaning and organizing. She likes to do little things around the house to decorate for the seasons. During the summer, Amy loves being outside tending to her flowers around the house, walking the dog, going on bike rides or hanging out with me at my shop and even occasionally fishing and hunting with me.

Amy has a captivating inner and outer beauty; her warm heart and gentle personality are evident in everything that she does. She amazes me every day with stories from work that clearly show her skill and compassion with her patients or how she manages to hold our household together not only in the physical sense of keeping it clean and organized, but also in the emotional sense. She’s often sending out cards and letters to friends and family and implementing her unquestionable faith and optimistic attitude to find the positive in every situation. I can’t wait to see Amy as the wonderful mother that I know she’ll be.

Joe is a man with rugged good looks, handsome on the inside and out. He works with his dad as a partner in the family residential construction business. He is also a volunteer fireman and is a sergeant in the SD Army National Guard.

Throughout the year you can find him hunting deer, pheasant, wild turkey, and ducks. He also enjoys fishing, especially paddle fishing in the fall. Joe loves being outside and fills his free time with boating, skiing in the winter and four-wheeling on gravel roads. I know Joe dreams of passing on his love of nature and spending time with our future children outdoors. His sense of adventure for life is shown in his willingness to try new things. He has sky dived, explored caves, had up to three horses, and most recently started beekeeping as a hobby just to keep things interesting.

Joe has such a warm heart and attitude of service for others. He volunteers when needed in the community, at church and in our family. He is the first one to offer to help with the dishes at our family events and often is found helping pick up chairs after social events in the community. Joe has a way to see a need and jump into action to help. He is such a hard working and honest man who has brought so much joy and laughter to my life! Often

What we hope to offer a CHILD

We both have been blessed to come from strong and stable family backgrounds. Having all of our family within an hour and a half from us, our children will have countless opportunities to make memories playing with cousins. We can see our children exploring and playing games at Joe’s annual family campout and flying kites with Amy’s family on Easter. Grandparents, aunts, and uncles would offer constant love and support, creating countless memories along the way. The love from our family and small town/rural life has taught us many values like compassion, kindness, hard work, generosity and faith in God that we would like to pass on to our children. We are

lifelong learners and want to pass that on to our children. We can’t wait to help their minds expand by reading to them each night. We have both worked hard in our careers to provide a financially stable and debt free home for our future family. We will be able to provide for our children while teaching them how to save for their future.

Over the years, our fertility struggles have only increased our desire to have children. With each downfall, the amount of love we have to share has only multiplied. We would be protectors of your child, keeping them from harm. Your child would be our number one priority.
