Computer Numerical Control machines (CNC) convert designs from CAD into numbers. The numbers are coordinates on a graph and control the machine's cutter. It is now possible to produce many unique products in a day, with customization, depending on how you program your computer model. For example, a person can be laser scanned and this data can be fed into a CAD software program. This makes it easy for the qajaq to be built to fit the individual dimensions of the individual. The data is processed by the computer and manufactured using the CNC machine. The machine can be used to machine wood and build kayaks at a fraction of the cost of the hand-based methods
