Non-EU students: should have applied for residence permit already while in home country.
EU students: register your stay at the Oulu Police station, see the Arrival material booklet for more info. Registration necessary if you stay for over three months.
Nordic students staying over 6 months: registration at Magistrate’s office.
Residence permit’s can be extended at the Oulu Police station if necessary.

Students staying under 6 months cannot open a bank account (exception: students who receive a stipend from the University of Oulu, you will receive information on this from your exchange coordinator meeting on Thursday).
