Personal Statement
Having recently finished my undergraduate degree I am eager to gain experience andknowledge in the architecture profession. My studies have helped me to refine my spatial and visual abilities and develop a set of valuable skills that enable me to manage my time in order to meet deadlines and to work within a team and individually.
My interest and motivation in architecture lie in social and environmental issues and my designs are driven by the aim to improve people’s lives.I am particularly intrigued by the fictional form of architecture and how it can be implied in other forms of media. For my dissertation I focused on how architecture defines fiction in films by exploring the illustration of spatiality and the influence of employing architecture as a means to identify a genre, to stress social issues and shape fantasy.
Curating Space
For the Final Project of my third year in Architecture I designed a Comic-Con Museum that was dedicated to introduce and manifest the culture and history of this big event. The museum was formed through a series of panels and pods and consisted a variety of exhibition spaces such as the Costume Runway (1.1), the Flipping Pages (1.2) and the Figurine Shelves (1.3), all which aimed to guide the visitors through an intriguing journey.

For the First Project of my third year I designed a Hybrid Building. The main functions of the building were separated by time and so it was used in the day as a Zoo-Archaeology Museum and by night as a Live-Venue Rock Bar. The project is located in Scarborough and the form of my design was derived from the cliffs and rocks in which fossils can be discovered along the coast of Scarborough.

Imagining Architecture
My dissertation study focused on how architecture defines fiction in films. To prove my theory I researched the relationship between cinema and architecture throughout space and time and my main focus were the “Lord of the Rings” franchise and “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”, both blockbuster movies of the fantasy genre. Due to the fact that both films are set in the past ages I designed my dissertation to look like an aged, hand-crafted book.
