SECTION
DESIGN PROCESSThe goal of the design is having flexible wide areas performing as scene and performance area. Circulation on different ground levels Circulation on different ground levels and different material qualities such as glass, bare concrete, plants and water are used to identify and specify different space qualities.
The main mass is composed of vertical and horizondal planes. It is clearly seen in the entrance design, the entrance is composed of planes defining a semi-
closed meeting area.

A TRANSFORMATION PROJECTHotel - Turkish Bath -Social Center - KnifeSellers Bazaar ComplexBursa Khanlar Area is a Bursa Khanlar Area is a historic area in the centre of Bursa city. ‘Bıçakçılar Çarşısı’ (knife sellers bazaar) is a pleace where knife craftsmen used to sell knifes. The goal is to The goal is to rejuvinate the knife sellers bazaar which was abandoned for the last two decades, to increase visitors density via variaty of functions and activities and make the place 24 hours living centerliving center. The design aims to become a landmark of its area.
STANDARD ROOM PLAN
DESIGN CONCEPT2- Rooms sections of Khan structure were taken as cubical units. On each level cubicals will slide half depth inside.
4- The volume through the shelter of these cubicals is covered with glass to protect the area from weather circumstances.
3- All functions have entrances look-ing to this volume, so the social center is obtained.
The program contains hotel, Turkish bath, Social Center and Knife Sellers Bazaar. Since the program is com-posed of various functions, the Khan logic was stud-ied and taken as a base. 1- Since Khan contains similar functions to the proposal, like temporary staying rooms, bazaar, and it is a pleace where the people sociolize
function entrances
DESING PROCESS
Hotel roomsHotel rooms are creating a shelter by sliding on top of each other, acting as a construction unit. The space created in this shelter will collect all the social functions inside. Moshe Safdie’s Habitat67 project was very influencial in design process. The bridges connecting rooms in the shelter volume act as a garden on every second floor. All facades are extraverted, having All facades are extraverted, having interactive functions related to visitors. Non of facades are introverted and closed to outside.

1 - Aesthetics of the tribune structure Usualy areas under tribunes are used as storage or technical volumes. Here this area used as entrance volume with all public functions (ticket office, cafe, wc, exhibition etc.)
2 - Minimum height as a treshold The minimum height required for the sports halls were used as a treshold to divide service areas and sports areas in section and structurally.
3 - section differentiation Steel truss beams are pinned to the treshold point. From this point sections change heights in different directions as showed below:
Despite all the standards applied to sports halls and considered as an obsticle, those standards were included to the process of creative design. Follow steps to see how:
DESIGN CONCEPT
Çankaya is the center of Ankara city. The sports hall is located in Yıldız, district of Cankaya. It is located in the dense residential tissue and aims to motivate people for the sports. It is not only used when there is a sports competition, but serving for local people people full time.

URBAN NURSARYAtaturk Forest Farm
Since the establishment of Ataturk Forest Farm in 1925, it went through severe demoli-tion process. Only 1/3 of whole area survived till the present day. But still it is continu-ously occupied by some unrelated instances, temporarily and laterpermanently.
TIn this project the state of land will analised, predictions for the land in continuously
acting factors will be made and proposals will be made in order to change the ongoing situations for better.
10
Atatürk forest farm was estab-lished in 1925 in Turkish capital city Ankara as a symbol of newly developping powerful and young Turkish republic. It was established as a proof of strong ideals and as anexamplary project which was expected to spread all over the country. It aimed to include new agriculture, social culture and new public interests as well as being lungs of the city in terms of huge green area it contains.contains.
GRAPH OF LAND DISINTEGRATION
When looking at land loses, we see that military has taken most of the lost lands. But most danger comes from industry and residenial areas, since they can grow
irregularly via units, has prograssive character and encouragesdifferentfunctions to settle around.
ANALISYS AND PREDICTIONSThe relation of Ankara city growth has inverse relation with AFF site. As population was increasinga Ankara settlement was shifting from its origin to AFF direction. So bits and pieces started to be taken from AFF area.
Once the demolition of AFF has started, intentionnaly or not, the way the site decreases followed a kind of strategy. It started to loose lands from inner parts. Next land loses happened at weakened edges, by breaking from weak points. In almost 90 years it preserved 1/3 of its land. The morphology of the land is thin and have a lot of weak points. Next phase might be the last for Ataturk Forest Farm. It might dissolve in Ankara with no sign of its one-century-long existance.

RELATIONS OF SURROUNDING (INPUT) ANDSPINE (OUTPUT)
Ataturk Forest Farm is under the danger of dissolving in the city. It shrinked to 1/3 of the primary area it used to have.
But still there is hope.
It is seen that most of the left land peaces are located on the arch like continouos spine.
This spine can save AFF.

A lot of trials were done to reach for the best solution fitting all require-ments.Flexible spine allowed flexibility in shaping but wasn’t strong enough to hold itself.Malleable spine is stronger then malleable spine and easier to control. However in bigger scale it is difficult to find a material which could behave as in scaled down model.Rigid segmented spine seems to be the best option, since it is easy to produce connect and control.

PLAYING WITH MY CITYArchitectural Toy Competition3rd Prize
The goal of the competition is to design a toy which will develop kids’ 3 dimensional way of thinking and create an architec-tural undertanding.
The toy is designed for 7-9 years children group. The kid while playing will create the city in his/her imagination, understand the relation of in and out speaces and gain an idea about what is structure.
The pieces acting with the logic of The pieces acting with the logic of pistons can be joined horizontally and vertically, creating structures with different height. The pieces with different surface quality can be used as puzzle by puting them on the perforated ground surface, for definition of water, asphalt, earth, green etc. The third element is stick with element is stick with replaceaple top peace, so that trees, street lights or electric-ity poles can be created using a single element.
27
The goal was to develop kids’ creativity and ability to understand balance and 3d thinking. The design was inspired by the very basic toy - wooden cubes. It contains two elements - double cube prism and connec-tion element.Just by connection them with different angles and with diferent sides, we can see in how many countless ways can be created variet-ies of structures.
