Smart Track

Altman Smart Track™ is a revolutionary way to bring DMX, DALIDMX, DALI, and 0-10 Volt0-10 Volt control* to LED track luminaires, both architectural and theat-rical. Smart Track offers lighting professionals the simplicity of traditional 2-circuit track light-ing systems, but also supports these modern control standards. The Smart Track system carries both power and data on the same track system, eliminating the need for data wiring to each fixture. Smart Track lighting system works with numerous Altman luminaires, including Gallery Wash and Profile, Siren Series Zoom Par, Pegasus 6” LED Fresnel, Spectra Cyc 50, and others.

Smart Track is an extruded aluminum track system that can be surface mounted, recessed, or suspended on a flat, level surface.** It can be integrated into existing designs to transform spaces into a more sleek, modern look. It is ideal for demanding applications where a low profile look is desired, and flexibility is required for changing fixture locations either regularly or occasionally. When used with digital controls like DMX and DALI, Smart Track allows high resolution independent control of each fixture.independent control of each fixture. Luminaires can be assigned a unique DMX address at the fixture, or remotely via RDM (Remote Device Management). Altman Smart Track luminaires retain their address and configuration when moved between locations. Mounting - Recessed (Spackle Flange Profile)

Spackle Flange Profile is a separate channel housing that allows Smart Track to be recessed, providing a flush mounting option for a clean look on finished drywall ceilings. Spackle Flange Profile is installed with independent support, prior to 1/2” drywall being installed, and the track is installed inside it. It provides a trim edge for the drywall spackling to be applied neatly up to the edge of the track.

Application Notes

- Spackle Flange Profile components are ordered separately, and do not include track. All track components need to be ordered separately.- Spackle Flange Profile is designed to be field cut, and needs to allow extra length to house Live End Feeds.- A Feed Fitting needs to be provided for each Live End location.- Three (3) Mechanical Straight Couplers must be ordered for each coupling; they do not come as sets.- Spackle Flange Profile must be supported every 16” minimum with Suspension Hangers as shown.- Spackle Flange Profile is designed for use with 1/2” drywall/sheetrock.- Track is to be installed and wired before drywall is installed; the track must be well-masked prior to spackling.- Screw fastener hardware is provided with Spackle Flange Profile components - Spackle Flange Profile sections include M5-16 Pan Head Screws to secure Smart Track inside the Profile channel. - Spackle Flange Profile End Caps, Mechanical Couplers, Feed Fittings, and Suspension Hangers all include M4x4 set screws

Mounting - Acoustic “Drop” Ceiling (T-Bar)

T-Bar Profile is a separate channel housing that allows Smart Track to be recessed, providing an integrated mounting option for in-stallation in acoustical ceiling grids. The profile is fabricated of extruded aluminum with white powder coat with visible flange. T-Bar Profile is installed at the same time as acoustical drop ceiling grids and provides an edge for the ceiling tiles to lay against.

- T Bar Profile components are ordered separately, and do not include track. All track components need to be ordered separately.- T-Bar Profile is designed to be field cut, and needs to allow extra length to house Live End Feeds.- A Feed-in Cap needs to be provided for each Live End location.- Three (3) Mechanical Straight Couplers must be ordered for each coupling; they do not come as sets.- T-Bar can be suspended with suspension supports or with tension clips, only one method is needed.- Screw fastener hardware is provided with T-Bar Profile components: - Profile sections include M5-16 Pan Head Screws to secure Smart Track inside the Profile channel. - T-Bar Profile End Caps, Mechanical Couplers, Feed Fittings, and Suspension Hangers all include M4x4 set screws

DMX Signal Termination

DMX and especially DMX with RDM requires signal termination. The preferred method is to use a Live End with a terminator (120 ohm resister) installed across the data terminals.
