Building codes have become increasingly stringent and

complex in the necessary drive towards sustainability.

Large-scale or multi-location facility owners and operators

have realized that “going green” benefits more than

just their marketing and corporate social responsibility

profiles, but their bottom-line too!

Studies have shown that the cost of green, when initiated

from the concept and/or design stages, does not

significantly increase the total project build cost. The

largest study conducted to date found that the increase is

only about 2% more than conventional buildings, with an

average of 33% reduction in total energy use*.

When done properly, Green brings all disciplines together

and an integrated design and commissioning approach

ensures that energy targets are met. Intelligent design

makes sure that the “carbon footprint” of the building is as

small as possible within commercial constraints.

The Marina Bay Sands is an integrated resort fronting

Marina Bay in Singapore and was developed by Las Vegas

Sands (LVS). The building has been billed as the world’s

most expensive stand-alone casino property and is valued

at US$ 5.7 billion, including the cost of the prime land.

Solutions PTE LTD for the preparation of Architectural

Shop Drawing works for the basement levels.

CASE STUDY:Marina Bay Sands,Singapore

Being constructed by the MTR Corporation, the West

Kowloon Terminus (WKT) is the only terminus on the

Hong Kong section of Guangzhou - Shezhen - Hong

Kong Express Rail Link (XRL). The terminus and rail link

will connect Hong Kong to mainland China through a

dedicated tunnel.

Forsspac have been commissioned to provide

Architectural Shop drawings to one of the West Kowloon

Terminus Construction consortia.

CASE STUDY:West Rail Terminal,Hong Kong

Commissioned by the Owners, who are currently based

in Canada, and now wish to return to the Philippines to

operate a small resort style business.

This Mediterranean inspired development is destined to

become one of the leading resort hotels in the province of

Masbate. With five star luxury facilities and amenities that

will cater to the local population and tourists alike.

Forsspac was commissioned to provide full A&E Design

services for the project, which is currently in the on-going

design phase.

Units 1 & 2 Project Technical and Non-Technical Buildings

Owned & operated by Aboitiz Power Corporation, this

coal fired power plant will boost the economy and help

eliminate daily energy shortages in Mindanao. This will be

the largest power facility in the region and is expected to

be completed by 2015.

Leighton Philippines Inc, together with their partners

Black & Veach, awarded Forsspac the contract to provide

full A&E Design services for the power plant’s technical

and non-technical buildings. Five (5) non-technical

buildings and sixteen (16) technical buildings were

designed and are currently being constructed on site.
