TO BECOME A MEMBER

One of the criteria to be an accredited SBID design professional member is to hold a university degree,

demonstrating achieved education over four years and 2 years’ experience. In the case of insufficient education,

1.5 years of professional practice is needed as a substitute for every year of missed education.

As an emerging industry, and following an amendment by The European Council of Interior Architects (ECIA), we

are able to accept applications for membership from individuals who do not hold a degree, but who are able to

demonstrate that their experience satisfies the ECIA criteria.

The European Council of Interior Architects (ECIA) is the representative body for European professional

organisations in interior architecture and design. ECIA represents the leading national industry organisations in 19

member countries. It provides a common platform for the exchange of information on best professional practice.

The ECIA has established common minimum standards of educational and professional profiles for the associated

Interior Architects in the member organisations.

MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES There are four levels of membership available. This provides greater choice and allows for the best value for

individual members, SMEs and larger organisations. It allows for greater flexibility enabling members, in discussion

with the SBID team, to create the optimum package reflecting and enhancing their business strategy.

You can pay your annual membership fees by BACS or cheque.

Membership can be paid by Direct Debit* with a flexible payment schedule that suits your budget:

Annually (no administration fee)

Quarterly (incurs a £20 p.a + VAT administration fee)

Monthly (incurs a £30 p.a + VAT administration fee)

*Direct Debit payment is only available for UK members.

The monthly membership detailed below includes the administration fee.

more events during the year. A fee will be applicable depending on the event format.
