My credo still is: ‘If you don’t have thepassion you havenothing’. Life and love deserve it.

THE FIRST TIME EVER I SAW ABILENE PCF WAS IN 2013 DURING A SHOW IN AACHEN, GERMANY.WHEN SHE ENTERED THE SHOW RING WITH ALL HER CHARISMA, SHE RADIATED SELF-CONFIDENCE

AND DISPLAYED JUST A TOUCH OF APPEALING ARROGANCE. THE SPECTATORS WENT MAD AND THIS

MARE MADE A LASTING IMPRESSION ON ME. THE ONLY THOUGHT IN MY HEAD FROM THEN ON WAS

“I WANT ABILENE”. IT WAS DEFINITELY LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT.

Elegance and prosperity is what you can see the moment you enter AlDanat stud with the very wide ele-gant barns and the gray relaxing mares walking slowly with their foal behind them enjoying the Wafra Kuwaiti sun.

“Strong roots runs deep, the moment I saw an Arabian horse was the moment I knew it is my fate to cherish this magical creature, and I knew why our ancestors raised and loved them, they were a part of their family, so my job was simply to preserve this breed and make it flourish for my children and grandchildren inshallah”

said Mr. Mohamed AlOmar

The place was established in the beginning of 2004. Mr. Mohamed AlOmar and his partner Mr. Abdullah AlMetrek they started the long, joyful, promising journey of breeding pure Straight Egyptian horses, with a very keen eye to collect the best foundation mares that would influence the whole breeding program for the coming years and all this care was paid off later by wining lots of titles since 2009 till now.It meant so much to see how all the previous years of breeding was paid off by being one of the top bree-ders by the opinion of the best judges in world. Of which AlDanat Stud was honored in 2013 by winning the GOLD medal, for being the BEST breeder in Kuwait, following that in 2014 winning the Silver medal also as a best breeder,

“Actually our real aim to be recognized and appreciated for our sincere devotion for our own breeding program, it was never a competition for us”.

said Mr. Mohamed AlOmar

AlDanat stud was built with care and love of Al Omar family and friends, they provided the full support to this well-organized amazing place, adding the appreciated unforgettable help of the great generous Kuwaiti breeders who always gave the right perfect advice needed anytime.

In the beautiful city of Knocke located in Belgium near to north sea, Ria and Paul Gheysens together all the family they did welcome in the farm friends and breeder to enjoy one wonderful weekend together between people and horses. Ria and Paul did welcome personally ever guest and introduced everyone to the main stable. They did show every horse one by one with the information of the pedigree and the reason why they did like to have them as an addition to there breeding program. In the beginning of Sunday it was a wonderful start with the tour in the carriage to see the city of Knocke and the wonderful lands and area around the farm. It was very interesting and a very warm event for everybody. After the tour did

start the presentation of the Arabian horses with the charismatic speaker and owner Paul Gheysens. He introduced the Arabian horse history from the beginning where they were coming from, about Bedouins and selection of the bloodlines from hundred years ago till to the modern time of today. Samantha Mettocks and Eric made the introducing of the horses with a great explanation of every horse and with their pedigree. We was allowed to see a selection of some of the most beautiful polish mares all over the world and the top production of QR Marc and the promising young stallion Espressivo K.A. bronze champion colt at the Al Khaldiah Show in Saudi Arabia. Paolo Cappecci, Tom Schoukens and Glene Schoukens professionally showed all the horses during the presentation. It was very interesting to see again Equiborn K.A. who won already many titles in the shows latest the great result he had in Menton with the bronze title in a very strong class. It was also shown Penelope K.A. she is also a wonderful daughter of QR Marc, she was also very successful at the shows

and she was named silver champion filly little bit later at the All Nations Cup in Aachen with Tom Schoukens. We did see also the beautiful Estokada K.A. the fullsister of Equibron K.A. she was named silver champion yearling filly at the breeders cup in Chantilly. Marc’s Star K.A. who will be very soon a promising breeding mare and was named silver champion filly in 2011 at the European Championships. There was Orfa D’Arab K.A. she was also successful at the shows and soon we will see her results as brood mare and last but not least Magnums Rose K.A. out of Magnum Madonna, just to name some of the popular at the time.

I t was a really beautiful day full of emotions and talks with new people in the lovely farm of Knocke

Arabians. It was all well organised by Ria Gheysens in a very elegant way of beauty and a tasty buffet and grill with a well selected music. There were shown beautiful horses selected year by year from the professional breeding program of Paul Ghysens him self and with the addition of Richard Philstrom as a super wiser, well known as breeder from many years and very professional judge and Walter Franco the general manager and the right hand of Mr Gheysens.

Ci potresti raccontare come hai iniziato?

Senza i caratteri arabi - nessun cavallo arabo!

“wow Effect”!

To what extent do you think that your specific knowledge distinguishes you from other judges who have different professional and breeding skills?

I think we have a lot of good judges around…

What is the importance of the breed expos for you? Do they really win the most deserving horses of the today standard?

I think there can be a difference between “bree-ding” and “showhorse”,this is not allways the same. Some of the very good Horses, didn’ t like the Shows!

If you could change anything in the current system of judgement, what would it be?

To use more the points.

What are the differences you notice between the Arabian horse today, than those in the past?

Nowadays it is much more professional, in the past training etc. was not so important…

In your opinion, which are the qualities

needed to become a good judge?

You need to have a good Eye for the Horses, to be honest and respectfull to everybody to the Horse, the Owner and the Handler.

What was the greatest satisfaction you got from your work as a breeder and judge?

As a Breeder my biggest satisfaction in the Moment was sure the Moment when our Stallion Muranas Jassehr was born…we realized soon that he is very very special...As a Judge I had several times that people are coming after the Show and are very happy about the honest Results...

What features should have an exhibition horse?

A Horse should be well behaved, of course correct in a good condition, relaxed but ready on the “Point”.

Which do you think are the best subjects in the history of the Arab thoroughbred, the most undervalued and overvalued ones?

Without Arabian Type – no Arabian Horse!

What are the positive and negative aspects of being a judge? (Travel, exposure time, and so on)

In the moment I have mainly positive Aspects!

The Arabian horse market has become increasingly difficult. What do you think needs to change to create a resume?

Market is getting more Professional!

Did you take part in any expo with your horses?

Yes, sometimes we also send some of our Horses.

What does the word “breeding” mean to you?

Breeding means for me to have also an idea, go forward to breed a special Horse, which is your own Dream….

In your opinion, what are the qualities needed to become a good breeder?

A Good Breeder needs to have a lot of knowledge, also from the past, he needs to have visions, and you must learn this is not possible in 5 or 10 Years….

In your opinion, which knowledge need a breeder to get good results?

You must work hard…also go ahead when you have no success in the first years, not to be “stableblind”.

What advice would you give to those who want to embark on this adventure of becoming a judge?

Try to learn as much as possible about Horses!

Can you tell us the funniest episode that happened to you during these years?

There is allways a lot of Fun!

What are your plans for the future?

To go ahead, hopefully judge a lot of nice Horses…This is the greatest Fun, to have good Quality in front of you and hopefully breeding some great offspring the next Year!

Afrikah ERA was born in January 2000. He is a son of the legendary Sanadik El Shaklan, out of the extremely exotic-headed Straight Egyptian mare Arabian Park Egyptian Echo, who was bred by Paul James of Arabian Park.

Even as a very young colt Afrikah charmed all who saw him. He has uniquely full-black, low-set eyes, a finely-sculpted, dished head, and extremely large, fine-walled and elastic nostrils. These traits, combined with his long, fine, well-set neck, flag tail carriage and powerful movement, quickly gained him recognition as an Arabian colt of extreme type and the highest quality.

There is no doubt that there are many Arabian stallions that are magical in the flesh, but one has to ask… Can they reproduce it?

Afrikah ERA is not only magical to look at – he is also proving to be an impressive sire that is extremely prepotent for his wonderful type and charisma. He puts his stamp on every foal, by consistently producing a look that is remarkably easy to recognise, as well as passing on his wonderful temperament.

Afrikah ERA’s semen is now available worldwide and the first of his international foals are expected this June. With a limited number of foals already on the ground in Australia, Afrikah ERA’s progeny are excelling in the halter ring. Ishtaar ERA (Om El Bishara), his second foal to be shown, is an Australian Champion Filly.

Woolf ERA was born in January 2002. He is a son of Om El Bishara (imp USA), a beautiful el Shaklan daughter, from the Om el Shaina daughter Om el Bint Shaina; a direct Estopa female line. He is sired by River Oak Protégé, a son of the legendary Kyremi Illustra. The cross between Pilgrim bloodlines and Estopa has proven to be a huge success for us at Eagleridge. Eagleridge Passionata is similarly bred, only in reverse.

Right from a small foal, Woolf possessed the most unbelievable aura and presence. He just loves to show off, and he has movement that is rarely seen these days.

A crowd favourite whenever he has been shown, Woolf ERA bursts into the show ring like a locomotive. With a huge ground-covering trot, lots of vocalising and snorting and so much animation, he is affectionately known as ‘The Ferrari’.

Woolf ERA has wonderful type, a smooth, balanced body and a short head, again with that rare lower-set eye placement and large fine-walled nostrils. He is a perfect cross for our Afrikah ERA daughters, and vice versa.

Woolf ERA is not only a wonderful horse to look at. Like Afrikah ERA, he is also an extremely prepotent sire, passing on his best attributes to his progeny.

With limited foals on the ground, his first born son Shumani ERA, from Eagleridge Rain Dancer, a half-sister to Eagleridge Passionata, was unanimously awarded Australian Champion Colt. Like his sire, Shumani ERA possesses that ‘look at me’ attitude, with wonderful charisma that is impossible to ignore.

The crosses between Afrikah ERA and Woolf ERA are proving to be everything we expected and more. Pictured left is a superb colt by Woolf ERA, from Aphrodite ERA (Afrikah ERA x Eagleridge Tamara).

Carrying on the tradition of his illustrious heritage, Afrikah ERA has proven himself to be an extraordinary sire. He is a sire of wonderful type, charisma and extreme motion. Pictured are three of his most beautiful progeny here at Eagleridge.

Ishtaar ERA (bottom right) is an Australian National Champion Filly and National Stud show Champion. Om El Bishara (imp USA), Ishtaar ERA’s and Woolf ERA’s dam, is a daughter of Sanadik El Shaklan.

Next to Ishtaar ERA (bottom left) is the exotic Aphrodite ERA. Aphrodite ERA’s dam, Eagleridge Tamara, is a daughter of Om El Tamina (imp USA), also a daughter of Sanadik El Shaklan.

Top left is the exotic two-year-old colt Na’Vi ERA. Na’Vi ERA is a son of Eagleridge Isabeau, a full-sister to Eagleridge Tamara, making Na’Vi ERA a full-brother in blood to Aphrodite ERA.

It is easy to recognise that each of these beauties are sired by Afrikah ERA.

Rich Sloan and Neil Braverman at Gallun Farm, Dubai Stud was able to get ‘FA El Rasheem ‘ in his background; they have found strong breeding potentials for the benefit of Dubai Stud breeding program. Of course, they were fascinated by his type and charisma and the great attitude for shows. This was just the beginning of the story of FA El Rasheem and Dubai Stud. He did fly from US to Italy, short time later he had the first International B

Show in Citta di Castello and he was named Unanimous Champion Colt.Mohammed Al Tawhidi liked to get him urgently to Dubai Stud in the UAE to be used over the best mares in the farm. For 2015, there are more than 30 babies. For the time being the colt is being shown by Paolo Cappecci and supported by his great team and so then he got the Gold Champion Colt Title in Abu Dhabi Int. and Dubai Int.

2014. After these great achievements, he traveled again back in Europe and went on to win in the honored show of Mrs. Chazel in Menton as the Gold Champion Colt. This year were born the first ba-bies of FA El Rasheem in US on Dolce Cavallo Arabians- Scottsdale - Arizona from the beautiful mare ‘Special Versa-ce’ and in Aljassimya Farm located in California from the RP Miss Surprice did born a superlative filly Mai Aljassi-

Since I was a child,I have always had the pleasure of competing,as I was skiing.

Can you help me to draw some characteristic of the Arabian horse?

For me, the main feature of the Arabian horse is the head that needs to be flat, then surely the proud gait and the tail raised. Important are also the limbs, they have to be thin, but at the same time, strong.

Would you tell us about a horse of yours that has particu-larly distinguished itself morphologically?

Alma Al Tiglio,it won in Saudi Arabia - Dubai- Las Vegas- Aa-chen- Frankfurt - and it was reserve at the world championship in Paris and many others.

How important is the marketing in this area?

It ‘s very important, but for me the most important thing is to have good horses.

How does the passion for horses grow?

The passion grows if you can breed and create blood lines using horses that you choose according to your taste and not to what the market wants.

Why are you fond of horses?

Because I identify myself with them. They are free-proud-rebels but loyal.

Would you tell us a story you are particularly fond of?

The name of my stallion Ajman Moniscione, it was suggested to me by my father in law from the heaven.

Why did you choose to do this job?

This work of being a breeder is what I’ve always wanted to do, because I can see how life borns in foals,in calves,in puppies,in chicks. Life is life.

Which is the secret of such a success with the Arabian horses?

Maybe I’m repetitive, but it is the possibility to choose and decide with your own head and your own taste.

Which are the goals you would like to reach with your stud?

My goals are the ones I think all breeders have, being able to produce good horses.

Which are your most important mares?

Alma al Tiglio- Armonia Moniscione – Emarra Moniscione- Medea Moniscione- Masaida al Tiglio- Alianna Moniscione- Miss Moniscione- Aida Moniscione-Anthea Moniscione.

Which is the most important stallion of your stud, and which of its features have met your reproductive expec-tations? Are there any horses you think you can hold to improve your breeding?

AJMAN Moniscione handing down to its offsprings beautiful heads and the temperament. Layal Al Moniscione.

Do you practice sports with your horses?

My son Cristian Buzzi trains the foals to the western riding.

“EQVITATVS”, cavalry in the ancient Romans idiom. The name is meant to be a tribute to our origins, to Italy, to Umbria, gorgeous landscape and historic frame, connection region between the Tyrrhenian and Adria-tic seas where the relentless centuries march did not bury the trace of Romans battles and Punic Wars. That was the time when epic conflicts sealed close alliances between Romans and Umbrian people, when loyalty and bravery let the Umbrian people get the name of “Roman Citizens”.With these premises EQVITATVS is born, the new equestrian clothing brand that wants to combine the traditional elegance and sophistication of Italian tailo-ring to a young and dynamic design without ignoring the products practical aspects. A twenty years expe-rience that brought us to know very well horses, riders and their exigencies; for this reason our attention didn’t focus only on the beauty research but also on the cor-rect use of innovative materials for quality and new-ness. First of all our clothes are necessary to ride. Therefore, an elegant and technological style, but abo-ve all 100% Made in Italy for its origin and manufacture. A value added for a product born from the love for hor-ses, horse-riding and our own region.

H Glamours “ The One” (Royal Colours x Galila)

I will tell it this story as a good story, cause in fact it is so; even if it was and is still the most biggest challenge of my life. I started when I was seven years old to deal with my pony: I attacked him to the gig by myself, and I was walking around with him. When I was eight years old I had a nice mare,Selle Francais, crossed with an Arab, Aladiin, with whom I spent many happy years ..Then the adolescence, the studies, the work, have taken me away from her, but when, after several ye-ars, I found this mare still alive ,I decided: my life would be dedicated to horses and that forever.I then took an arabian gelding, Bolero, who spent more than 20 years with me and al-most immediately I took HAREM,an anglo-arabic stallion which is my strength and we have been absolutely in harmony for years. My dream was an Arab mare, gray with a lit-tle star forehead and I had found it,my friend Dominic Cicero owned such a mare: TUAREG DREAM CHA (Shahil x LF Chantilly). When he gave it to me, it was like a dream becoming true. It was the essence of the broodmare, it was my harmony and my balance, and it was the column of the breeding. From this won-derful mare I had several foals that are still in the herd. Then it came BEAUTY ODESSA, that is the maternal grandmother of Amir Ashiraf and Galila (Coaltown x Bint Monta-ha UP),a beautiful straight Egyptian blackish mare, that absolutely randomly gave me GA-ZELLE, a beautiful black filly with Classic Shadwan, even if the stallions chosen for her were not black, also because it is difficult to find them;and more recently it arrived the horse that I have always dreamed to breed

ars with the AC MILAN, I learned the value of training and of a proper nutrition.Unfortunately, due to a serious injury that I had three years ago, I suspended the birth of the foals and I did no longer present my hor-ses in the shows, but I hope to do so during the coming year. I surely intend to rely to some of the best handlers I know, but as they say,the eye of the master fattens the horse. D uring Our visit In Cairo in El Farida Stud from the Soliman family, we had the pleasure to see Imperial Baarez, the stal-

Tarek told: “In my opinion this is the modern golden cross.“ The father Imperial Baarez was a big leader in USA many years ago in shows and breeding and he did prove also his quality in Europe on the shows getting the Silver medal world champion title in One year later du-ring some shows in Egypt we did see again this fascina-ting colt winning the national title and some international shows, he was showed by Paolo Capecci, and after so good results the Soliman family did decide to bring him in Europe for the new dream, The Europe The first show he went he got unanimous champion Europe Egyptian

Three matches one by one struck in the nightThe first to see the whole of your faceThe second to see your eyesThe last to see your mouthAnd the complete and utter darkness to remember them allWhile holding you in my arms.

the magnificent cathedral of Notre Dame to the Latin Quarter, from Montparnasse to Montmartre.

I personally love to visit it on board of one of the many Bateaux that sail along the coasts of the Sei-ne River and to enjoy Paris from a different point of view;this itinerary offers a unique way to ap-preciate the city, which presents itself to your eyes with a single flow, broken only by the interlayed bridges. (which there are in Paris almost 33)

We don’t have to forget, however, that a walk through Paris is first and foremost a fascinating lesson in history and art:in fact, the French capital has the richest architectural catalog among all the European capitals, you only have to think that it encases nearly two centuries of architecture, and it is possible to go through by observing the Louvre Building, it summarizes alone much of the deve-lopment which has characterized the French capi-tal over the centuries, from the Middle Ages to Na-poleon 3rd, until the most recent and controversial glass pyramid of the ‘American architect Ming Pei.

There are lots of museums (Musée d’Orsay, Centre Pompidou) which collect contemporary modern works, especially from the impressionist artists, you will be truly amazed in front of the original paintings of Monet, Degas, Manet, Sisley.

It is important to know that the Haussmann ba-ron was the person who gave to Paris the face we know today, during the entire period of the reign of Napoleon 3rd, lasted 17 years from 1853 to 1870, when he actualized the renewal of the town, giving

it a really magnificent appearance. Even the most recent monuments are closely linked to the events in the city, the Eiffel Tower was inaugurated on March 31, 1889, the construction was accompa-nied by criticism and complaints of Parisians, but the metal frame of the famous tower is now the symbol of Paris.

To fully enjoy the charm of Paris there is a dip in the renowned cuisine (French cuisine) that makes everone crazy. The chefs from all around the world need to get there approval in Paris for there crea-tivity and sophistication. If you’re in the mood for madness (for once it may be worth, you are in Pa-ris) step into a charming restaurant, the timeless Maxim’s on Rue rosale among all, a true legend of the French gastronomy, where you can satisfy your taste buds with the delicacies of the Haute Cousine. Finally Paris la Nuit, the seductive Paris nightlife awaits you, as long as you wait for the dawn, and Paris has a flavor all its own!
