    What is an infinitive?

    What is the most important part of the verb in Spanish? The beginning, the middle or the end? Why?

    Remember, in Spanish there are 3 verb groups. Verbs that end in -ar, -er and -ir.

    Using the table on the left, plant the verb tree for the verb usar – to use.

    Change the verb to match the person and write the English translation.

    Remember to get the stem you first have to remove the -ar.

  • Put the steps for conjugating a verb (changing the verb to match the person you are talking about) in the correct order.

    a. Add the correct ending to the stem to make the verb match the person you are talking about. b. When you have removed the ending, you are left with the stem. c. Find a verb in the infinitive and look at the ending to see if it’s an -ar, -er or -ir verb. d. Remove the -ar, -er or –ir.
