    EXT. VENICE BOARDWALK DAYTIME STORE FRONT

    It’s a hot summer’s day in Venice. The camera pans throughthe infamous Venice beach boulevard. People playingbasketball, lifting weights, tourists every way you look.Music and activities all around.

    CUT TO:

    EXT. VENICE ALLEY DAYTIME

    A woman is crouched behind some trash cans on her knees,while a MAN ONE, male, late 40s, in construction /workergear stands with his pants unbuckled. He is groaning.

    MAN ONEYes baby, control that dick.

    The man let’s out a groan of relief and begins to button up

    his pants. To reveal, CHARDONNAY, late 20’s, wipe her mouthwith the back of her hand and flick her hair out of herface. The man pulls out some one dollar bills and hands themto her. She begins counting.

    CHARDONNAYThat’s only eight bucks.

    Chardonnay looks like she is about to kill the worker.

    MAN ONEReally, I thought I gave you te....

    CHARDONNAYLook asshole, next time I will biteyour dick off so give me what youowe me.

    The man hurriedly gives her two dollars and she walks downthe bike path toward the boardwalk.

    CUT TO:

    EXT. VENICE BOARDWALK DAYTIME PERFORMER CIRCLE

    There are many tourists in a circle looking at a streetperformer. TINY, Male, 17. A tall teenager with hair thatpartially covers his face lurks on the out skirts of thecircle, almost like a lion stalking prey. He finds anunsuspecting MALE, 30’s, engrossed in the show and swiftlypicks the wallet out of his pocket and swipes the camera bagon the floor next to him. Tiny casually walks away as if hebecame disinterest in the show and was moving on.

    CUT TO:

    EXT. VENICE BOARDWALK DAYTIME PARK BENCH

    Sitting on a park bench is Ash, female, she is listening to

    music on headphones and wearing cute off shorts with highsocks. She looks like a hip young girl who fits with thetourists on the boardwalk.

    She sees a group of young people walk by and discreetly saysto no one in particular, but directed at them.

    ASHNeed party drugs?

    The group continues to walk. This happens a few more times.

    Ash gets up annoyed.

    ASH (CONT.)Slowest day eva.

    She walks toward a car parked in alley. She leans into thedrivers window. Inside is DAVE, male, early 20’s.

    DAVEWhat do you want?

    Ash throws a bag of pills into his car.

    ASH

    I can’t push it Dave. I need somereal shit. No one wants this crapanymore.

    DAVENot my problem.

    ASHCome’on Dave you know I’m good forit.

    Dave takes a moment to decide.

    DAVEOk. Move this by end of the week.

    Dave hands Ash a brown paper bag. She looks inside and cannot contain her glee.

    ASHYou won’t be sorry Dave.

    Dave grabs hold of Ash’s jaw and looks her dead in the eyes.

    DAVE(smirking) I am not worried

    sweetheart cause you know thatI will find you. I will killyou. It’s that easy. Good luckselling.

    Dave let’s go of her and drives off down the alley, leavingAsh a little shaken up.

    CUT TO:

    EXT. VENICE BOARDWALK DAYTIME STORE FRONT

    Chardonnay walk out of a tourist t-shirt store. She hasfixed her clothing, it’s a little too big for her but sheclearly trying to look professional in the best way sheknows how.

    She looks defeated and and sad. She gathers herself andstraightens up her clothing and walks into the next store.

    CUT TO:

    EXT. VENICE DUSK SAND DUNES

    Dusk begins to set over the Venice beach skyline. Tiny sitsalone, looking at the sunset over the ocean. Ash strollsover and sits next to Tiny. They both look out to the ocean.

    ASHHey Tiny

    TINYHey!

    ASHGood day?

    TINYYeah, alright. Got this camera,some cash for us. You?

    ASH(excited)Finally got somegood...

    CHARDONNAY (V.O.)Guys, guys....

    Before they can even turn to find Chardonnay she comesrunning up to Tiny and Ash and stands in front of theirocean view.

    CHARDONNAY (CONT.)I did it! I got a real job!

    Chardonnay leans over and hugs Tiny.

    CHARDONNAYCan you believe it kid, we aregoing to be alright...

    ASHWhat kinda job?

    CHARDONNAYWell...It’s mostly just cleaningand unpacking shit on theboardwalk...

    Chardonnay sits between Tiny and Ash facing the ocean.

    CHARDONNAY (CONT.)But it’s a real job (beat) we gonnaget off these streets (beat) Toldya.

    The three look out onto the ocean in silence fantasizing

    about their new life.

    TINYWe’re going to get a dog

    ASHAnd I’m going to make us a garden

    CHARDONNAYI’ll cook us family dinners.

    The three look out in silence again.

    CHARDONNAY (CONT.)And Tiny can start his drawingbusiness.

    TINYYou really think so Chardonnay?

    CHARDONNAYI know so.

    ASHCome on, I’m starved

    The three get up and start walking toward boardwalk.

    TINYYeah. I found a cool building forus to stay tonight.

    The three continue talking about their day.

    FADE TO:

    EXT. VENICE ALLEY EARLY MORNING

    Chardonnay, Tiny and Ash are folding their blanket andcollecting their belongings. They slide out of a locked gatein an apt. building covered in scaffolding. Ash throws thebackpack over to Tiny.

    ASHTiny, go put our stuff in thehiding place.

    TINY(rudely) You do it.

    CHARDONNAY

    Tiny. Don’t be rude to Ash.

    Tiny looks down at the ground, embarrassed and Ash begins tolaugh.

    CHARDONNAY (CONT.)(to Ash)You go put our stuffaway. He’s right, you never doit.

    Ash throws a dirty look at Tiny and grabs his backpack. Ashbegins walking away with a pep in her step.

    ASHSee you maggots for lunch.

    CHARDONNAY AND TINYYeah...

    TINYI need a shower.

    CHARDONNAYMe too. I gotta wash these clothesfor my new job tomorrow.

    TINYI think we should go shopping foryour new job.

    Chardonnay thinks about it and smiles.

    CHARDONNAYWell...okay.

    CUT TO:

    INT. LAUNDROMAT

    Tiny and Chardonnay are sitting at the laundromat watchingpeople come and go.

    A woman, blonde, early 30’s, fairly well dressed, walks intothe laundromat and heads toward a washing machine, she takesout the wet laundry and puts it in the dryer.

    Tiny and Chardonnay look at each other and nod in agreement.

    The girls phone rings and she gets up to leave.

    GIRL (OFF CAMERA)Hold on, it’s too loud in here I’mstepping...

    Tiny and Chardonnay launch toward the girls dryer and puthalf the clothes into Tiny’s backpack. They close it and letthe rest contiue to dry.

    The two walk casually out of the laundromat as the girlwalks in.

    They turn the corner and start laughing and running down thestreet. Once they are out of breath they stop running andlaugh. They catch their breath. They are on a Veniceneighbourhood alley.

    TINYChardonnay, we are crazy. (beat) Igotta go sell that camera.

    CHARDONNAYAlright kid. See you in a bit.

    The two part ways and Chardonnay begins walking down theVenice neighbourhood alley.

    CUT TO:

    EXT. VENICE NEIGHBOURHOOD ALLEY

    Chardonnay admires all the beautful houses, secretly wishingone was theirs. A door with yellow caution tape catches hereye. She opens the small courtyard gate and stands infrontof the front door.

    EXT. APT 36. DAYTIME

    Chardonnay looks for people who may live in the apt.complex.

    CHARDONNAYHello?

    She pushes open the door and sides under the yellow tape.

    CHARDONNAYAnyone here? Hello.

    There is no answer. She begins looking in the apt. It isempty. She turns the light switch. There is no electricty.

    She walks around and sees there is no furniture, no oneliving in the place at all. She opens the shower tap, thereis water, she is so excited.

    She leaves and closes the door, making sure the yellow tapeis untouched.

    EXT. VENICE ALLEY COUCH

    Ash, Tiny and Chardonnay sit eating lunch on an old dirtycouch in an alley near a dumster. They all talk with foodcoming out of their mouths.

    TINYCome’on Chardonnay. Just tell us.

    CHARDONNAYNo it’s a surprise.

    CHARDONNAYNo.

    TINY AND ASHPlease...give us a clue...come onplease

    CHARDONNAYDam you two. Ok fine come on.

    NEED TRANSITION HERE

    EXT. APT 36. DAYTIME

    The three stand in front of the front door. Chardonnay

    actions them to step under the yellow caution tape. They aresilent.

    They walk into the apt. and Ash and Tiny begin running fromroom to room. They evenually come back to Chardonnay who islooking out the side window to make sure no one saw themcome in.

    CHARDONNAYkeep it down in the daytime.

    Ash and Tiny nod.

    TINY(whisper) The shower works.

    CHARDONNAYI know.

    TINYGo. You go first.

    CHARDONNAYNo Tiny, you go first.

    Tiny runs off. Chardonnay sits in front of the window withthe blind at a slither. She smiles.

    INT. APT 36 NIGHT

    Tiny is laying on their make shift bedding in a corner ofthe dark room. Outside light shadows his face. Ash has lefther drugs in mini piles in little bags on a piece ofcardboard on the floor. Chardonnay is looking through hernew clothes from Tiny’s backpack. Tiny is watching her.

    TINYThink I could get a job like you?

    CHARDONNAYYou can get any job you want Tiny.You are so smart and talented.(beat) besides you have to get ajob soon, you are going to be 18next month, prison is nothing likejuvi if you get caught

    TINY

    Maybe I will finally get to meet mydad that way.

    CHARDONNAYThat’s not funny. Promise me, youare going to look for a job Tiny?

    TINY(beat) I promise Chardie.

    Chardonnay walks toward Tiny and accidently steps on thecocaine on the floor.

    CHARDONNAYI wish Ash would stop selling thisshit and leaving it laying aroundlike candy. I swear Tiny if I eversee you near...

    TINYYes I know. No drugs!

    CHARDONNAYI’m just saying, it’s not worth itkid.

    Tiny looks out the window. He sees a flash light.

    TINY (CONT.)Well you can tell Ash yourself,looks like she is home already.

    Chardonnay runs to the window and peaks out, she runs to thefront door and peaks out. She begins to panick.

    CHARDONNAYGet up. Get up.

    TINYWhat? Why?

    Tiny gets up and walks in front of the window towards her. A

    flashlight shines through the window. Tiny freezes next toChardonnay. She looks at him. They hear voices outside.

    CHARDONNAYYou listen to me. You listening tome?

    TINYYes, yes.

    CHARDONNAYYou need to run. Go out this doorand run.

    Chardonnay reaches into her shoe and pulls out a roll ofcash. Tiny is shaking his head.

    CHARDONNAY (CONT.)This is everything. For you. Youhear me?

    TINYNo. No I am not leaving you.

    The voices get louder. Light shines into the living room. Wesee the silloette of a police officer.

    POLICE OFFICERYou need to come out. We know youare in there.

    Chardonnay sees all the cocaine on the floor bends down andbegins scooping it up in her arms.

    CHARDONNAYYou need to go. Do not come back.Don’t go looking for Ash, she can’ttake care of you.

    Tiny takes the money from Chardonnay and is still shakinghis head. Chardonnay stands and looks at Tiny.

    CHARDONNAY (CONT.)You remember our promise? You haveenough money. You go. I will findyou. Take the Greyhound. Get a job.

    TINYOk Chardie. Ok.

    CHARDONNAYI love you Tiny. GO!

    She walks past him heading for the bathroom to flush thedrugs. Tiny runs out the back door crying. Chardonnay is onher knees at the toliet starting to open bags and pour theminto the bowl. The police officer is banging loudly on thedoor.

    POLICE OFFICERThere is no way out. If you do notunlock this door, we will.

    The door swings open and the police officerruns into theapt. standing on her "new" work clothes and finds her in thebathroom, he screams at her with flashlight pointed.

    POLICE OFFICERMamm. Put your hands in the airright now.

    Chardonnay drops the cocaine onto the floor, and places herhands in the air.

    CUT TO:

    EXT. APT 36. NIGHT ALLEY

    Tiny is running down the alley between the apt. building asfast as he can. Tears stream down his face.

    FADE TO BLACK.
