FINISHED APRON MEASUREMENTS

1. Cut out all apron pieces in the following sizes. 24" x 25" (D) (I like to do this piece in a solid color)14.5" x 17" (C)10.5" x 17" (B)10" x 10.5" (A)

5. Fold this piece in half so that RIGHT sides of the fabric are out are out and press.

6. Pin piece A/B/C to bottom of D so that all RIGHT sides are facing out.

7. To make pockets, fi rst sew a seam where pockets C and A/B meet (green line). Next sew seams anywhere you want a pocket to be. The magenta lines are suggestions on where to place the seams. Add more seams if you want more/smaller pockets.

8. Fold piece D in half from top to bottom so that RIGHTsides are together, and the WRONG side of D is facing out. This will enclose the bottom row of pockets. Sew around the edges, starting at the (folded) top and go all the way around, stopping about 2-3 inches from the other side of the top. Remember to back stitch a few times so that you don’t rip your seam when turning the apron right side in.

11. Find the center of the ribbon and apron. Pin ribbon to the top of the apron, with the centers together. If you are using thicker ribbon sew a seam at the top and bottom of ribbon. For a thin ribbon one seam should be enough.

2. Fold piece A in half so that the RIGHT sides are facing out, and press. Baste to bottom left side of B.

3. Sew three straight lines about an inch apart (starting 2 inches in from left) on pocket A (dotted lines). These will be small pockets for pens and pencils.

Note: When sewing pocket seams start at the bottom of fabric and go up. Next reverse back over the whole seam. This will insure a nice tight seal on all of the pockets.

4. Sew right sides of C and A/B together. Press open seam.
