SOWS FARROWING

North Carolina producers intend to farrow 450,000 sows during both the March–May and June–August 2020 quarters.

PIG CROP

The State’s pig crop during the December 2019 – February 2020 period totaled 4.73 million head, up 5% from the same period last year.

PIGS PER LITTER

The number of pigs saved per litter averaged 10.5 compared to the 9.9 pigs saved during the same quarter last year.
