I started working as a booker at the agency, making connections and communicating with European (mainly British and French) agencies, to book models for on-stay contracts in Istanbul. My duties included translating contracts, managing hectic casting schedules, responding to inquiries, email correspondence. Since I started my responsibilities grew and my involvement became more, I redesigned our company logo, built a new website, designed our model composite cards, setup test shoots for models and directed styling and retouching editorial photos.

For the Gallo Coffee project i was given the task to design logo options and the service bar design. They wanted to incorporate the rooster within the logo if possible, and design the interior of the coffee bar with rustic materials with a modern feel.

Brief: Create a graphic for Gercek Kosmetik offices. The below graphic is an enlarged lipstick drawn with coordinated colours to the Gercek Logo.

Digital Literacy Centre

This project is an old water pump station in Ferikoy, in a very residential community. My initial idea was a library, however this has sinced developed into a more modernist idea about digital information and gathering information independently. I wanted to develop the idea of a library into a new literacy experience gained to engage and interact with visitors. The routine of use for the digital library would be, entering, collecting a tablet at the collection point, scanning a catorgory QR code on the glass

panels (such as fiction/non fiction/science/art) and then being to browse the collection while sitting in any area of the building. An example of QR scanning and browsing is at the Biennal Pavillions. Various architects developed the idea of this independant digital media gathering through their exhibitions Upon entering the the exhibition, everyone collects an ipad and scans the QR codes on the walls/ floors and the information appears on the ipad.

Other design elements to be acknowledged, such as the inside glass facade entrance, so a 'delayed' entrance point rather then the original warehouse gates. Two walls of glass that chase around the interior of the building gives the euphoric feeling of entering a 'glass box enclosure', a sense of no edges and a serenity amongst the technology. Between these panes of glass, soft smoke is pumped through small air conditioning systems, the smoke between the glass enables the pro-jected library catergory codes to be caught and reflected back, therefore readable on the tablets.

A skylight placed in the middle roof, and the glass wall that stretches from the first floor to ground floor, greats a bright light-well which gives breathing space to the small soft upstairs seating era and the downstairs cafe.

I chose furniture from UNStudio because of the soft look and versatile shapes and structure.

‘Seating Stones’ These are to be placed in formation along the groundfloor in the main hall space. Seating Stones are designed as individual objects and can be used autonomously. However they can also be placed side by side as a family of forms in a variety of configurations. They can be placed together, either to accommodate privacy or to invite communication.’

'MYCHAIR' These are to be placed in pairs along the top floor plateau, along with a small table between each one.

'The continuously changing silhouettes result in a kaleidoscopic experience, achieved in the MYchair by the faceted arrangement of the soft elements, the inward and outward curves of the chrome frame and the duo-tones of the upholstering'

Buyukada Retail design This was my first warm-up project at Istan-bul Teknik. It was based upon the suburban ecology of istanbul- Retail Design. We were asked to explore and address the Retail Cultures responding to changes in dynamics of life and culture. It was on Buyukada island, the biggest of the princes islands on the ferry. I chose a site right along the walk way pier, and had the idea to make a permanent cafe/retail space that mimicked the pier.

Summerhall

In Edinburgh, at the junction of Causewayside and Hope Park Terrace is a 2 acre strange and surreal warren of a dizzying range of architectural styles. It used to house the Royal (Dick) Veterinary College, but is now a proto-arts complex, creeping into the consciousness of the cultural landscape. My job was to nhabit Summerhall and immerse myself in its design and nature. To look be-yond the ordinary and focus on something

that catches your eye. See how people use the place at the moment and how they have possibly adapted it to meet their requirements.Summerhall Masterplan: After through research, i organised the site as a city planner, encouraged to be unsentimental, logical, and ruthless. I looked at building functionality, circulation, practicality and materials.
