The Westin Austin at The Domain will once again be our venue. Early bird table/ticket pricing
expires Sunday March 31, 2019. We are excited that you are able to pre-order wine for your
table in advance. The hotel is also offering a discounted room rate of $229 for AWM guests.
This pricing will expire on April 8th, 2019.
We have a few deadlines quickly approaching:
All finalist questionnaires must be submitted by Friday March 29, 2019 to
[email protected] As in past years, judging will be done outside
of Austin with other AWM Affiliates.
All Creative entries for consideration must be received by Monday April 1, 2019 at
[email protected]. Only one (1) submission per category will be
accepted and, as in past years, judging will be done outside of Austin with
other AWM Affiliates.
There’s still time to buy an ad in this year’s program. Final copy deadline is Friday March 29,
2019. We also have a limited number of sponsorships available. Thank you to Univision Austin
who is sponsoring our After Party and to Entercom Austin for sponsoring the Signature Drink –
The Mix Julep.

Christine’s media career began as an intern at Clear Channel Radio
while attending The University of Texas at Austin. Today she is
President and General Manager for Univision Austin’s Spanish
language television and radio.

2019 SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENT
Stephanie is pursuing a B.S. in Public Relations, double major B.A. in Studio Art (painting concentration) with a minor in Business
Administration.
At the age of 14, she led a campaign to raise $15,000 to build a well in India. At 17, she was
president of her high school student body and led multiple anti-human-trafficking fundraising
campaigns. After an injury playing for UT’s women’s club soccer team, she wrote for the Texas Health
Journal. She later interned at NASA’s Johnson Space Center, where she compiled a complete media plan.
At NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center, she led a team of interns to create full media packages for
events, and published 8 articles. She plans to pursue science writing via a masters at MIT.

needs of both. Her work—social media, science writing, graphic design, video production, all of it—was some of the most inspired content I have seen in 11 years in
Goddard’s Office of Communications.”

Congratulations to KXAN, NBC affiliate, who received the Walter Cronkite Award for in Television Political Journalism. The award was presented to the KXAN-TV team for an episode of political program, State of Texas, that focused on an investigative reporting series, “Texas’ Oil Empire: Drilling into Power, Money and Ethics.” This is the third Walter Cronkite award and the sixth national journalism award that KXAN-TV has received since 2015.

Austin City Limits Radio will now be found exclusively on 97.1 FM.
Austin’s relaxing favorites can be heard on the new Star 93.3. The soft adult
contemporary station kicked off their launch with 9,300 songs in a row.
Starting April 1st national host Delilahwill begin on the station.
ACL Radio received national recognition this past year by winning the NAB Crystal Radio Award for Excellence in Community Service.
Univision Austin’s KAKW Channel 62, will get a new two-hour morning newscast starting in April. “Noticias Texas Primera Edición” (“Texas News First Edition”), will air from 4 a.m. to 6 a.m. weekdays. Austin-based reporters will be Liliana Soto and David Herrera, who are both already part of the Univision 62 news team. The Univision network’s “Despierta América” (“Wake Up, America”) will air at 6 a.m., immediately following the new statewide newscast.
