Spring in the Village is an interesting time. One day you are golfing and the next wak- ing to snow-covered fairways. Makes me hum the beginning of the Dinah Washing- ton song "What a difference a day makes, 24 little hours...". It's wonderful to see flow- ers coming out of their winter slumber and the course greening up, yet hearing the daily mowers always make me cringe a little knowing my mornings will become earlier and earlier as the season moves into full swing (pun intended). I am a lot of things, but I will never be accused of being a morning person. For those of you who have just returned, welcome home. For those en route, I wish you safe travels and look forward to seeing you soon. The Board will resume our nor- mal meeting schedule beginning with the workshop on Monday April 11th at 6pm. followed by the Business meeting on the 19th at 6pm. We encourage you to attend and welcome your participation. Thank you to those that responded to my questions in last month's column. We still need to hear from more of you regarding your thoughts for improving our community. To be successful in 5, 10, 20+ years, we must improve, not just maintain. While some of us may only believe our golf course is an amenity of living in the Village, in reality it is a multi-million dollar corpora- tion that needs to increase its income opportunities. This is the only way to en- sure our dues stay low and the potential of additional amenities may be added. For your April act of good neighboring challenge, the Highway 41 cleanup will be on Saturday, April 30th. This is a great opportunity to pitch in and pitch the rubbish keeping the entrance to our Village and surrounding area attractive. Sign-up sheets will be in the pro shop or you can call or email me. Lunch will follow at my house. It only takes about an hour and the sense of accomplishment will last far beyond. I look forward to seeing you there. Attention Committee Chairmen and Committee Members

The Spring Checklist identifies specific actions our committees need to address each year. It is designed to help the committees get off to a good start in their project and budget planning processes early in the year. It helps keep your board and other TLV members informed as to what is happening in your committee. Please submit your completed checklist to your board liaison by hand or electronically following your first meeting each spring. Here is the checklist.

Fill any vacancies on your committee (Board approval needed). Decide a date and time for your ongoing meetings (notify Office and Board).

Have Conflict of Interest statement forms completed and signed by each Committee

Member at first meeting and by subsequent new members. (submit to Board; required annually)

Review mission statement (notify Office and Board of changes). Review approved budget for the current year. Review current projects to be implemented this year (list briefly here, followed

by ongoing communication through your liaison and/or board meetings). _________________________________________________________________ _________________________________________________________________

Plan next year’s projects (list briefly what is planned so far for the next year, followed by ongoing communication through your liaison and/or board meetings). _________________________________________________________________ _________________________________________________________________

Begin your budget planning for the following year (due July 31st of current year). Review black binder in office to make sure all your minutes are up-to-date.
