ASCENSION CATHOLIC CHURCH

LADIES OF ASCENSION The Ladies of Ascension will meet on Wednesday morning, April 10th at 8:30 am in the Community Room. Father Al Bitz will be our guest speaker. This summer Father Al is celebrating 50 years as a priest. He will talk to us about his journey as an active priest, as well as the visits he recently made to those parishes, at which he served. Remember all of our ladies of the parish are members of the Ladies of Ascension. We welcome those that are available on Wednesday to come and listen to Father Al, as well as share ideas that our group can work on for the benefit of Ascension.

ASCENSION PARISH JOB POSTING Coordinator of Faith Formation: Grades 7-Adult Ascension Parish has a part-time (20 hours) job position open for a Coordinator of Faith Formation for Grades 7 - Adult. This person would be responsible for the development, coordination, and promotion of a comprehensive plan for the spiritual growth and faith development of 7th grade through adult.

Qualifications: Individual must be an active Catholic who is organized, committed, creative and has experience in education and/or pastoral ministry. Experience teaching within a parish faith formation program is beneficial. Possessing good communication skills and an ability to work collaboratively with pastor, parish staff, catechists, parents and students is vital. A complete background check is required by the Diocese of Bismarck. DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY April 28th at 3:00 pm in the Church

Join us on Divine Mercy Sunday for our Divine Mercy Liturgy. The Liturgy will include Exposition, Benediction, and the Divine Mercy Chaplet. Please come to receive God’s mercy and His promise of forgiveness and love.

GRADES 8TH & 9TH TO ATTEND “THE ROCK” All 8th and 9th grade faith formation students will be attending the ROCK at St. Mary’s Central High School this week, April 10th, from 7:00-9:00 PM. This is an action packed event complete with Fr. Waltz as the speaker, food, and games. Please plan to stay the entire 2 hours.

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I write today to express my gratitude for your generous response to our 30th Annual African Mission Appeal which was held in our parishes on March 2nd and 3rd.

Your wonderful generosity demonstrates your willingness to be God’s co-workers and helped make this year’s appeal a tremendous success. Because of your remarkable support, we will be able to expand the programs and services that are making an incredible impact on the lives of the Aids orphans we are assisting. This includes our water purification kits that we introduced last year as a pilot program.

The money collected for the African Mission Appeal supports our missionary activity in Kisii, Kenya, East Africa. You can be very proud of all the missionary work that we are able to accomplish because of your generosity. On behalf of our poor brothers and sisters and all the orphaned children you will be helping this year, I offer my heartfelt thank you.

I hope you get a chance to read about the exciting ministry that Fr. David Morman is accomplishing in the Dakota Catholic Action newspaper. The informative articles describe the wonderful work and ministry made possible by your contributions.
