volunteers’ interests.

This is how it works. Nonprofits log in to one common website to post their needs. Volunteers view all available postings and are able to filter by interest, location, date, time, or skill. When they click “I want to help” the organization instantly receives an email with the individual’s contact information. The nonprofit then accepts, waitlists, or declines the offer with the click of a button! The site tracks volunteer hours, data can be downloaded, links integrate with Facebook, the site sends automated email reminders to volunteers, and

much more.

we currently have $22,000.

Please consider a Seal the State donation or a general contribution to the project at hand with replacing the lintels. The new development will increase the cost of the repairs by several thousands of dollars not covered under the current program. All donations are tax deductible as we are a 501(c)3. It is imperative that we protect our historic building from the ravages of time, so she can shine and continue being the theatre of the arts for the community and Northern Ohio. A lintel is a structural horizontal block that spans the space or opening between two vertical supports. It can be a load-bearing building component, a decorative architectural element, or a combined ornamented structural item.

Our 1928 landmark building has stayed the test of time, but also is starting to show her age and with that comes costly repairs and maintenance items that we need to take of, so she can serve the many generations yet to

come.

Recently we were able to receive support from the City to replace our outdated and unsafe emergency exit doors. However, as with any major repa i r , somet imes there are unforeseen costs that impact the instal lat ion of new and safer

equipment.

That is the case with the State Theatre Emergency doors. As you drive by Waters St., you will notice that we have a temporary fix, using plywood and some temporary insulation. Our lintels (see description below) are in desperate need of replacement along with the supporting frames of the doors

themselves.

This is due to water/wind and extreme temperatures stressing the seals and penetrating the mortar. We are half way to our fundraising goal of sealing the building that will help stop the moisture penetration and keep our

The show has a limit of 15 venues on the east coast throughout its run and will wrap things up on Friday, May 29. The World Premiere film viewing with concert has its grand appearance at the Sandusky State Theatre on Saturday, May 28th at 7:30PM with a RED

CARPET entrance.

Union Bound, The Tour was spawned from the feature film, Union Bound (based on the true story of Union soldier Joseph E. Hoover), which hits theaters across the country beginning

April 22.

Entertainment on the tour will include country singing sensation, Collin Raye, who as 24 top ten records, 16 #1 hits, and has been a 10 time male vocalist of the year nominee (5 CMA and 5 ACM), lead singer of Highway 101, Nikki Nelson, and the award-winning Street Drum Corps. Tank Jones, one of the stars of the film, will serve as host for each event. A showing of the feature film, Union Bound, will round out the
