The students are constantly being reminded to avoid the wet, muddy areas of the yard….nevertheless, here are some suggestions for this time of year….

A pair of waterproof boots

Plastic bag boot-liners, if necessary

Extra socks

Change of pants

Any extra clothing you think your child may need

Parents, if you get a chance, please take a moment to check out our lost and found area in the lunch room. We’ve got jackets, mitts, gloves, hats, scarves, boots, and many sweat-ers! We have so many items, it’s almost time to ship some out to charity!

Light it up Blue!

World Autism Awareness Day, celebrated each year on April 2, was adopted by the United Nations in 2007 to shine a bright light on autism as a growing global health issue. Additionally, World Autism Awareness Day celebrates the unique talents and skills of persons with autism around the world.

On World Autism Awareness Day, Autism Speaks celebrates its international Light It Up Blue Campaign. Thousands of iconic landmarks, communities, businesses and homes across the globe unite by shining bright blue lights in honor of the millions of individuals and families around the world affected by autism.

On April 2nd, Arklan students will show how to “Light it up Blue”! We’ll be wearing blue, painting our nails blue, wearing blue accessories!

Supporting our Food Bank

The food drive continues until Thursday, April 2nd.

The items we collect will be stored in the display case at the front of the school. Check it out as we attempt to pile enough food to “Hide the Egg”!

April is Daffodil Month Cancer touches the lives of too many loved ones. Each of us has been impacted by the disease in some way.

April is daffodil month. It’s the month that Arklan School joins the fight against cancer.

In support of the Canadian Cancer Society, we will be accepting do-nations at the main office. Students will receive a daffodil sticker. We will also have daffodil pins for the adults.
