Member Associations Guyana The February 2015 issue of World Archery News informed that the Guyana Sport Shooting Federation applied to World Archery membership. Since none of the World Archery member associations or members of the World Archery Executive Board has raised any objection to the World Archery office, this federation becomes a temporary World Archery member as of 1 May 2015. Their final membership will be submitted to a vote at the next World Archery Congress in Copenhagen, Denmark later this year.

Bolivia This country has submitted a membership application file conformed to rule 1.4.2. According to rule 1.4.3 the current World Archery member associations and Board members have 60 days to raise in writing to the World Archery office any objection to this request of membership. Without any serious objection within these 60 days (30 April to 30 June 2015), a temporary membership will be granted to the Federación Boliviana de Tiro con Arco until the 2015 Congress where the final membership of this national archery association will be submitted to a vote.

Team India After a disappointing 2014, former world number one Deepika KUMARI is to lead India’s recurve women at the first two Archery World Cup stages. The Archery Association of India announced that KUMARI, veteran man Jayanta TALUKDAR and Incheon winner Abhishek VERMA will lead the Indian squad at the first two Archery World Cup stages of the year. The team selection was based on the results of trials conducted in New Delhi in April.

Development Mission in Mali Paul ZINSOU, World Archery Development Agent in West Africa, conducted a coaches course followed by bamboo workshop and national competition from 30 March to 2 April 2015 in Bamako. The aim of the mission was to continue developing the equipment programme and provide educational tools. Paul is regularly visiting the national federation, supervising their activities and following up on their progress.

The young federation, whose final affiliation will go to vote at the next World Archery Congress in July 2015, is working very hard to develop archery in all regions despite lack of human and financial resources. The National Olympic Committee and Ministry of Sports has renewed their commitment to support the national federation’s development actions and set a plan to reach international competitions in the coming decade. Bangkok Training Centre Activities The World Archery Partner Centre in Bangkok will host four courses over the second half of the year, for athletes and coaches, under the leadership of Coach CHONG Yap Lee. As part of its programme of development in Asia, World Archery organises courses at its Partner Centre in Bangkok’s Rajamangala national stadium with the support of the International Olympic Committee.
