Dear Members and Friends of the

St. Peter’s Family: The weeks of Lent are quickly passing by andwe’re celebrating (or at least hoping) that thecold, dreary days of this brutal winter are

past. After the freezing cold winds, the snowand sleet and ice, the many overcast graydays of winter, the trees are finally buddinggreen, spring blossoms are bursting forth, and all sorts of plants are emerging from theirwinter sleep all fresh and green with new life. That’s why Spring is my most favorite time of

the year. It is such a beautiful, joyful, hope-filled time as new life bursts forth in natureall around us.Spring is also the time when we in the Churchcelebrate new life bursting forth as well. In

just a few short weeks we will joyfully andtriumphantly celebrate again the resurrectionof our Lord Jesus on Easter morning. And notonly will we celebrate Jesus’ resurrection, butwe will also celebrate the sure and certainhope of our own resurrection from the deadto a new eternal, more abundant life than wehave ever known when our lives here onearth are done. Easter is a celebration of newlife—of eternal life.Every Christian should be in church on Eastermorning to rejoice, give thanks, and celebratewhat God has done for us in Jesus’ victory

over sin, the devil, and death. But come to think of it, as the Church teaches, every Sunday is a celebration of Easter. EveryChristian should want to be in church everySunday to rejoice, to give thanks, and tocelebrate what God has done for us in ChristJesus. Why wouldn’t we want to come everySunday to praise God and offer our thanks forhis gifts of forgiveness, grace, and love?

In joyful partnership with you in Christ’sservice,

Needs at LICS—  LICS has a need forunder-clothing and socks for all ages. This isthe time of year that warm clothing gets gonequickly. If you can help you may take yourdonations to LICS or leave them in theFellowship Hall kitchen and we will be glad to
