FAITHFUL FRIAR’S MESSAGE:
Brother Knights:
EASTER BLESSINGS;
We have just completed our Lenten journey with Christ on the road to Calvary a road of suffering, pain and death on the Cross. Now the Lord has risen from the dead and we journey with Him in joy, hope and peace. Some disciples did journey with him to Emmaus - a most wonderful journey of revelation and affirmation. We too journey with him on the road to Emmaus. How deeply blessed we are. The Risen Lord is right here, right with us, right now. May we open our hearts and serve him in those in need and may our hearts also burn within us with devotion as we meet him in the sacred gift of the Eucharist. He is present and with us now and always. A HAPPY AND HOLY EASTER TO ALL.

FAITHFUL NAVIGATOR’S MESSAGE:
Dear Worthy Sir Knights and Ladies: My wife Wendy and I are planning to be in Europe for the month of June so I will not be here for the Columbian year end, therefore I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone that supported me for the last two years. Every time I asked for help, someone always stepped up to the plate. We managed to put on a number of social events with guest speakers that allowed us to become more aware of needy charities and gave us plenty of time for Fraternity. Thank you to the Sir Knights that helped organizes these events. Thank you to all the Sir Knights that preformed Honor Guard duties at all the events that required them, whether it was at the Chrism Mass, Midnight Mass, Remembrance Day, State Convention, Decoration Day, Carol Festival or Funerals. Our presence was definitely noticed. In March, we hosted a great Exemplification that welcomed twelve newly minted fourth degree members. Again I would like to welcome those members and thank all the Sir Knights that participated and those that worked very hard to make it a success. A special thank you to our Faithful Friar, Monsignor Raymond Senger, for all the support that he gave me and the spiritual leadership that he gave all of us in the assembly. Thank you to our executive members for their role in making it a successful year and the help they gave me as they stood at my side for the last two year. For those members that are ending their terms at the executive level, thank you for your years of service and dedication. They have not gone unnoticed. I would like to congratulate the newly elected executive and wish them success in the coming years. I am sure that you will support our new Faithful Navigator as they did me. Wendy would like to thank the Ladies for welcoming her and the support she received. In closing, Wendy and I would like to wish all of you a very joyful Easter and hope you have time to sit back, relax, reflect and spend family time at this Blessed time of the year. THE VIRTUE OF FORTITUDE
The reading of Christ’s crucifixion and death shows us the ultimate fortitude, even to die for one’s
convictions. Fortitude is one of the manliest virtues. We all want to be strong and powerful. We see this as
examples of Christ and all the martyrs in the Church who had the fortitude rather to give their lives than to
succeed to something dishonourable.
Our fortitude begins already with little things: to get up in the morning and say your prayers, go to Mass if you
have the opportunity, tell your children what you feel is right or wrong, face any evil-doer with strong
opposition and oppose political views and laws which contravene with the teachings of the Church.
Be there at the March for Life, pray for the support of life and help women and families in distress. It takes
guts to be different, to swim against the current. Go to political meetings in your community. Support the
Catholic Schools. Be a man of fortitude which means a man with strength not of muscles but of character.
Fortitude is not only a virtue of an individual but a virtue for a community. A Roman story tells us about a
bundle of sticks tightly bound; it cannot be broken. Only when you take every individual stick and break it,
then the bundle is doomed.
Be brave and strong in unity with each other.
