Faith is based on a promise, while knowledge is based on revelation—spiritual information.

We all have faith according to the Scriptures, but functioning according to the revelation knowledge that God has made available to you through His Word is what puts you over in life. That’s what makes the difference. For example, David wasn’t merely demonstrating faith when he confronted and defeated Goliath; he had revelation knowledge of God’s covenant with Israel. It wasn’t that he had more faith than everyone else in Israel; what distinguished him was what he knew—revelation knowledge.

When he asked about Goliath in 1 Samuel 17:26 “…who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God?” he was speaking from his knowledge of the circumcision. He knew the implication and benefits of the circumcision. He knew, on the basis of that spiritual information, that he could mince Goliath, the champion of the Philistines.

Understand this: when you know the Word, you don’t need to try to squeeze out faith! That knowledge gives you faith. What David did was a demonstration of his knowledge; he knew the significance and power

of his circumcision. The Word of God already gave the children of Israel the clear information that they would not fall before the uncircumcised. For David, that wasn’t something he needed to try to “believe,” but something he had come to know; the knowledge was in his spirit.

You become effective in life as a Christian when you function according to revelation knowledge. In Matthew 22:29, Jesus said, “Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures….” He lets us know that the reason people make mistakes, and go wrong in their choices and actions, is that they lack the revelation knowledge of the Word.

Have a burning desire for the knowledge of God’s Word. Consistently inundate your spirit and mind with spiritual information from God’s Word. Your ability to live a victorious, joyous, and prosperous life is dependent on how much of God’s Word you know and live by.

When you tell someone, “Oh, you’re just like Raymond,” you’ve awakened a level

of curiosity in that fellow, and he’ll want to know who Raymond is. Our opening verse, referring to Jesus, says, as He is, so are we in this world. It’s therefore worth finding out from the Word who Jesus is; how did He live when He walked the earth?

The Bible tells us that He walked on water, talked to deaf ears, and they were unstopped. He spoke to blind eyes and they opened. He talked to lame legs, and they were vitalized and restored. Even maimed limbs grew back at His word. He spoke to the dead, and they came back to life! When He hushed the raging tempest, the disciples exclaimed of Him, “...What manner of man is this! For he commandeth even the winds and water, and they obey him” (Luke 8:25). He was so awe-inspiring!

It’s even more breath-taking to realize that He did all these as a man, having laid His glory aside (Philippians 2:7). All these miracles and glorious manifestations of the supernatural in His life happened before He went to the cross. It was after His resurrection that He became the glorified Christ (1 Peter 1:21). This is

marvellous! Now, notice that our opening verse didn’t say, “…

as he was, so are we,” rather, it says, “as he is so are we!” The image of the glorified Christ you see in the Word—the mirror of God—is actually your reflection as a new creation in Christ. When you look in a mirror, you’d see your reflection, because the mirror reflects whatever image is before it. The Word is that mirror that God gave you so you could look into it, and see your real self. So, when you read, “...as he is, so are we in this world,” you ought to say, “Wow, as He is now, with all His glory and splendour, so am I today!” Blessed be God!

Meditate on this truth thoroughly, and consciously think, talk, walk, and act like Jesus. Then like Him, you can say to blind eyes, “open up,” and they’ll open! You can say to the lame, “get up and walk,” and it’ll happen. You can touch others, and they’ll be blessed; because as He is, so are you!

The Lord Jesus is seated at the right hand of the Father, far above all principality, and power,

might, dominion, and every name that is named. He occupies the most exalted throne there is; and the good news is that we’re seated with Him. Thus, together, we’re reigning over all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named. Glory to God!

God gave Jesus authority over all creation. At the mount of transfiguration, He spoke out of heaven and said, “...This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him” (Matthew 17:5). Here, God commanded all creation—all of nature—animate and inanimate, to be subject to Jesus.

Now, in our opening verse the Apostle Paul makes this remarkable statement about us, the new creation in Christ: “Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together, and made

In the realm of the spirit, you’re seated with Christ; you occupy his place of authority, with the power of attorney to act in His stead. All the powers of darkness respond to, and recognize, your authority in Christ. Therefore, be bold to exercise this dominion in every area of your life.

You’re not ordinary. You operate from a higher realm where your words are backed with divine power. Ecclesiastes 8:4 says, “Where the word of a king is, there is power….” All authority has been vested on you to alter the circumstances of your life to be in sync with God’s perfect will. You can speak words of power to break the influence of Satan over men’s lives, and cause the light of this glorious Gospel to shine upon them.

Ephesians 3:20 tells us that God, “…is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we

ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.” This means He does what He plans to do in your life through His power that’s at work in you. He doesn’t want to work outside you, but from within you. Imagine if you functioned with this knowledge all your life! Colossians 2:9-10 says, in Christ dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily, and we are complete in Him. Imagine knowing this, and living with the same consciousness every day; what an extraordinary difference it’ll make in your life!

It’s one thing to know you have something, it’s another to know how to use it. Some don’t even know they have anything, and so they can’t even begin to think of how to use it. The Apostle Paul wrote the verses we read in the previous paragraph. Read what he had to say about himself: “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me” (Philippians 4:13). Notice, he didn’t say, “We can do all things.” He was talking about himself; this was his personal testimony. This understanding imbued him with a different mentality. He didn’t think in terms of

what he could or couldn’t do. He said, “I can do all things….” Wow! Like the Apostle Paul, you must be bold to say, “I can do all things!” God wants you to acknowledge that you’re sufficient in His sufficiency; His ability within you!

Again, in Colossians 1:29, the Apostle Paul alludes to the inner working of God’s power in him, saying, “Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily.” The New International Version reads, “To this end I labor, struggling with all his energy, which so powerfully works in me.” He knew that the power of God was at work in him, and he took full advantage of it.

Acknowledge, and affirm, always that God is at work in you. Take advantage of His inherent power in you.

Something beautiful the Spirit of God does in our lives is that, apart from imparting your spirit

with spiritual information, He can also cause you to have knowledge of everyday events. Knowledge, in our opening verse above, is the Greek word “gnosis,” which is knowledge based on science or intellectual activity. God can cause you to have mental prowess. He can supernaturally impart to you abstract or scientific knowledge that’s based on mental ingenuity. This is something we need to be more conscious of as God’s children.

We’ve walked with the Lord in the manifestation of the gifts of the Spirit in certain areas, but there’s much more for us to explore. We need to become more conscious that the Spirit of God is the Spirit of knowledge; He knows all things. Therefore, He can give you a word of knowledge in the field of chemistry, medicine, law, engineering, or business. All you need is to make yourself available to Him to work with.

Christ Jesus is the embodiment of all wisdom and knowledge (Colossians 2:3), and He made all things: the plants, animals—everything in the world (Colossians 1:16). Therefore, He can teach you about them. The world is looking for solutions, and God wants His kids to be the solution providers to the world’s problems.

He Can Grant You Knowledge Of

Everyday Events

He can give you a word of knowledge about your career. The very thought of this is exciting; that you can be praying in your closet and receive a word of knowledge that’ll be the solution the world has been waiting for.

I’ve experienced things like this several times, where I was able to explain natural things through knowledge imparted to me by the Spirit of God. You can receive a word of knowledge from the Spirit of God about your health, job, business, academics and finances. You can receive ideas from Him that’ll change your world.

Look at the sand we all tread on for example; many people don’t know what’s in it apart from using it to build houses. There’s more in the sand than many know about, and God can tell you about it such that you could be the first to discover and educate the whole world on a new and different use for something as common as the sand.

Patience: Enduring Hardness With Hope

Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ (2 Timothy 2:3).

Patience is one of those virtues the Bible admonishes us to add to our faith: “And

beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness” (2 Peter 1:5-6). When you study some of the translations of the Bible, you’ll find different words translated as patience. However, the best synonym that describes patience in the verse above is “endurance”; the ability to endure hardship with hope. This means you’re able to face any opposition and remain undaunted, knowing that there’s only one outcome: victory for you!

Proverbs 24:10 admonishes us against giving up or giving in, in the day of adversity; rather, we’re to keep our heads high up, declaring, “In all these things, we’re more than conquerors.”

Maybe you’re at the beginning stages of developing your faith, and things may be looking tough and very challenging, have confidence in the Word. Be patient and give the Word time to work in your life and in your circumstances. Endure. Stick fast to what you believe!

Amen.

Galatians 5:22 NIV; hebrews 10:35-36

That situation is for your testimony! There’re people who don’t know how to stick with

what they believe. For example, once they’re criticized for their faith, they tend to be discouraged; that’s wrong! Endure such criticisms, for they’re designed for your promotion. Don’t hide your Bible just because someone made fun of you at work. Don’t stop winning souls. Learn to endure hardship with hope.

Patience without hope is useless. Be hopeful of a better and brighter day ahead; therefore, being a victor in Christ Jesus, you create that picture in your mind—a picture of victory.

I want you to observe Apostle Paul’s choice of words carefully; he said, “And to know the love

of Christ which surpasses knowledge.” How can you know something that surpasses knowledge? What’s he talking about? Here, he distinguishes between two kinds of knowledge: revelation knowledge and scientific knowledge. The word translated “know” above is “ginosko,” which means to have the understanding, or knowledge by revelation.

For the other word translated “knowledge,” the Apostle Paul chose another Greek word “gnosis,” which is knowledge based on science or intellectual activity. This is knowledge that is gained through the physical senses. It’s knowledge based on intellectual prowess. However, the Bible shows the superiority of “ginosko”—revelation knowledge—over “gnosis,” scientific knowledge. Understanding the love of Christ is beyond scientific or intellectual knowledge; it requires “ginosko.”

Intellectual knowledge doesn’t tell the significance of the Cross. This is the reason the natural man can’t understand why Jesus had to be crucified, and what His death, burial and resurrection mean to the world. He may read about it, but there’s no revelation. Putting both together, Paul could have said, “And to ginosko

the love of Christ which surpasses gnosis”; that is, to have a revelation of the love of Christ, which surpasses scientific knowledge or intellectual activity. This means knowing the love of Christ beyond your senses and human definitions, but according to revelation.

In science, there’re no absolutes. All the laws of science are based on theories and assumptions. However, in revelation knowledge there’re no assumptions. Science can’t unveil to you the passion of Jesus Christ, which He demonstrated on the cross of Calvary. No matter the books of this world that you study, you’ll never get to know the significance and importance of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. You may know about it, you may even be able to describe what happened to Him on the Cross, but you won’t have the understanding; that can only be granted you by revelation of the Word of God.

Jesus used the word “ginosko” for “know” in the scripture above, making it clear to us that

the revelation knowledge of the truth that you have is what makes you free. However, revelation without involvement or participation can lead to frustration. 1 Timothy 4:3 talks about those who “...believe and know the truth.” Then, we read in our opening verse, “Ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free.” These two portions of Scripture actually describe two different groups of people.

John 8:32 talks about those who know the truth and, as a result, have become free. Whereas, in 1 Timothy 4:3 the Apostle Paul is referring to those who have gone beyond merely knowing the truth and becoming free, to having a higher revelation concerning the truth that they’ve come to know. He uses the Greek word “Epiginosko” for “know” in that verse. This is knowledge that unites the one who knows with what he knows.

The Apostle Paul’s opening address to the brethren at Colosse in Colossians 1:6 gives us a clearer picture. It talks about the Gospel bringing forth fruit in them since the day they heard of it, and “…knew

the grace of God in truth.” That word “knew,” again, is “epiginosko”; it’s the kind of knowledge that unites the knower and what he knows. It’s knowledge with involvement.

Here’s where some folks have missed it, and become frustrated, in spite of all that they seem to know. They’ve been Christians a long time, and can tell you about all the various “revivals” and “moves of the Spirit” that have taken place since the history of the Church. However, their lives don’t show that they know anything. Such folks need to have a relationship with the truth; they need to have revelation with involvement—a union with the truth; that’s what will produce greater results in your life.

In this day and age, when there’s so much trouble and crisis, with an overwhelming spread of evil

around the world, many are thinking, “Is there hope? Does God still protect; does He still care about us?” First, as Christians, we’re victors and not victims; the Lord Jesus assured us that though we may face crises and tribulations in the world, in Him we have peace, assurance, safety and security (John 16:33).

When you study Psalm 91, you’d understand God’s divine plan for His children in a tempestuous world. The first verse is so inspiring, it says, “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” Here, he’s talking about your location in the Spirit; your dwelling place: you dwell in Him. Therefore, you’re under the shadow, that is, the cover or protection, of the Almighty God.

It’s important that you understand a little more about “dwelling in the secret place of the Most High.” Where is the secret place of the Most High? The next verse (Psalm 91:2) captures this: “I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.” That means, He, the Lord, is that

secret place, because He is your refuge and your fortress.” Accordingly, dwelling in the secret place of the most high means dwelling in God!

Over in the New Testament, the Apostle Paul, by the Spirit, tells us, “…if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature…” (2 Corinthians 5:17). Notice the underlined phrase, “in Christ,” showing us that Christ is that secret place; Christ is that dwelling place. To be in Christ is to dwell in the secret place of the most high. Christ is a person—the Man Christ Jesus—but Christ is also a place in God. Therefore, refuse to fear. You’re shielded from harm, evil and destruction because you dwell in Him. In Him you live, and move, and have your being. “A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee” (Psalms 91:7).

This is so inspiring! Imagine the content of Jonah’s prayer, despite being in such a

distressing situation: A great fish had swallowed him up, after he disobeyed God’s instruction to go to Nineveh and proclaim His Word. In the belly of the fish, he refused to give up; instead, he prophesied his victory. He declared, “I will look again toward thy holy temple!”

This is a prophetic prayer, and it’s important for God’s people to pray this way, where you speak the will of God into being by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Observe further, Jonah’s prophetic utterances from the belly of the fish: “They that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy. But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that that I have vowed. Salvation is of the LORD” (Jonah 2:8-9).

God’s glory changes constant ly and continuously on His throne. The angelic

beings see His glory and bow in worship. By the time they raise their heads, the glory has changed, and they bow again; this continues throughout eternity. “And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God, Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Something beautiful happens when we behold the glory of God and worship Him. The more of His glory we see, the more glorious we become; the more we’re beautified by His glory, and we can’t but glorify Him again. “But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord” (2 Corinthians 3:18). Through worship, our spiritual eyes are opened to behold the glory of

God. Incidentally, when we see His glory, we see our glory.

That’s why God tells us to worship Him; it’s so we can behold His glory and be glorified. You can expect miracles when you worship Him because, then, your eyes are opened to see what you’d never have seen any other way. You forget about yourself and focus on the only one who matters.

Some people think angels know everything about God, but that’s not true. According to Ephesians 3:10, they’re still trying to figure Him out. “To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God.” You’re the glory of God, and He demonstrates His manifold wisdom to angelic beings through you!

one more word, greatness. Excellence is greatness. “Greatness” here means, “surpassing others.” In other words, excellence makes you surpass others. This makes us understand people like Abraham and David who were described as great. Since greatness is a synonym of excellence, then Abraham and David were excellent men.

Excellence also means extra-ordinary discretion; it means having excellent perception. Many aren’t perceptive to the needs of others and their environment, and that’s what makes the difference between the greats and the smalls. Great people have great visions, and great visions don’t mean great plans or ambitions, but an extraordinary amplitude of perception—the ability to see so much at the same time.

The Spirit of God trains us to be excellent in different ways. Sometimes, He uses seemingly insignificant things to train us for greatness. Imagine you came into a room and saw a glass cup placed dangerously at the edge of a table. An excellent person will quickly make a move to prevent that cup from

If you consistently manifest excellence in the seemingly small things of life, you’re programming your spirit for greatness. Those little things you do on the outside are a reflection of the happenings on the inside. For instance, picking up litter from the floor depicts excellence in your spirit. Truly, excellence is greatness, for it makes you see all the little things that others ignore, thereby putting you ahead of them.

Some Christians, out of ignorance, say that since Jesus went to heaven, He’s been begging the

Father on our behalf to have mercy on us because of our sins. Such Christians completely misunderstand our opening scripture. Jesus isn’t in heaven trying to defend you from the Father’s wrath, for the Father Himself loves you (John 16:27). On the contrary, Jesus is there to present you holy and blameless before the Father, and to strengthen your faith during times of trials (Colossians 1:22).

The intercessory ministry of Jesus on our behalf as Christians isn’t necessarily against the Father’s wrath. He intercedes for you to be strengthened when you’re going through difficulties in your life. He doesn’t want your faith to falter; so that no matter the opposition you face in this world you’ll come out victoriously. He’s on your side; therefore, it’s impossible for you to be defeated or disadvantaged!

The Book of Hebrews describes Him as our great High Priest before the Father (Hebrews 2:17; 3:1; 4:14; 8:1; 9:11), not our Mediator. He is the Mediator

However, for us who have been born again, we’ve been brought into the Kingdom and made to sit with Him at the right hand of the Father. Therefore, we don’t need Him to mediate between us and the Father any more. We’re born to live right in the Father’s presence. This is why it would be wrong and ineffective for a Christian to pray to the Father through Jesus Christ. Rather, you pray in His Name. Some Christians try to make God responsible for what actually is their responsibility. Often

times, when something unpleasant happens they’d conclude, “It’s the will of God; otherwise, why did He let it happen?” What such people need to realize is that the authority to change things on earth, and make your life as beautiful as you want it to be, has been delegated to us. Thus, you can make your life glorious; and one of the ways to do this is by your faith.

In Matthew 17:20, the Lord Jesus was emphatic when He said, “...verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.” He makes it clear that you can create your victorious life by acting your faith; you don’t have to wait on God! He already gave you the measure of faith you require to “move mountains”; that is, to effect the changes you desire. If Jesus had said, “nothing shall be impossible unto God,” that would have been easy enough to agree with; but He said nothing shall be impossible unto YOU.

Then in Mark 9:23, He said, “...all things are

possible to him that believeth.” So the big question is: Do you believe? If you do, then what do you believe? If you believe His Word and put it to work in your life, then anything is possible with you. You shouldn’t wait for God to alter the circumstances keeping you from living out His Word; you’re responsible to cause those changes that you desire.

Don’t “wait” for His Word to come to pass in your life; rather, you’re to “work” the Word. Philippians 2:12 says, “…work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.” In other words, work out the Word in your life and make it produce results. By your faith, you can be what you want to be, change what you want to change, and achieve what you want to achieve!

God has already given you the dominion and the authority to create your triumphant life by altering the course of events in your life to conform with His perfect will. Keep living in the Word, and the glory of God will be manifest in all you do.

speaks! He says whatever you desire will become yours by vocalizing what you believe. This means you agree with, and say what, the Word says about you or your situation. Faith isn’t just to believe God’s Word in your heart; faith actually speaks.

Faith “calls those things which be not as though they were” (Romans 4:17). Therefore, you should declare your healing and health, prosperity and victory. Don’t keep quiet; the faith that works believes and therefore speaks: “We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak” (2 Corinthians 4:13). You believe first that what you desire exists, and then give voice to it.

This is where some have misunderstood faith: they don’t speak because they’ve believed; they speak

to believe. Though they confess God’s Word, they actually struggle with their believing. This explains why they get frustrated when things don’t turn out as they expected. When the Lord said to Abram “Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee” (Genesis 17:5), the man was still childless. and give some time, it won’t be long before some dust settles back on it. This scripture above lets you know that it’s possible for you to have an unending supply of finances. It may be the beginning of a month, and you’re about to use up your last cash. Don’t start fretting and wondering “Where else can I get money; I only have one source—my monthly salary.” Don’t talk like that. There are three important factors about prayer that we’ll study in the next three days. The

first is praying in the authority of the Name of Jesus. As Christians, when we pray, we do so in the Name of Jesus; which means we’re standing in His stead. Jesus gave us the power of attorney to use His Name, in prayer.

There’re those who pray “through” the Name of Jesus, and that’s wrong. To pray “through” Jesus is to make Him a medium or an intermediary to the Father. However, to pray “in the Name of Jesus,” which is the right way to pray, means you’re standing in the place of Jesus; you’ve become His voice! So, in praying to the Father, do so in the Name of Jesus.

In John 16:23, Jesus said, “…Verily, verily, I say unto you, whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you. Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.” Notice that Jesus didn’t say, “whatsoever ye shall ask the Father through my name, he will give it you.” Before you were born again, the

Name of Jesus was given to you so you could come through that Name to the Father and be saved.

Now, having accepted His invitation and come to the Father at the new birth through Christ, you now have eternal life; the life and nature of God. You now dwell in Him, and live by the power of His Name. Philippians 2:9 says, “…God also hath highly exalted him (Jesus), and given him a name which is above every name.” His Name is the greatest Name in heaven, and in earth. God has vested all authority in that Name. Whatever you ask the Father, in the authority of the Name of Jesus, will be granted you.

The Lord Jesus has delegated His authority to you; the same authority He had on earth to request anything of the Father and have it granted.

friday, april 18th

Yesterday, we learnt about praying in the authority of the Name of Jesus. Another very

important element in prayer is praying by the authority of the Word of God. This refers to the revelation and insight given to us by God through His Word. It means acting our faith in prayer, on the basis of the Word of God; if God’s Word covers it, then we’re audacious in faith to receive answers.

1 John 5:14-15 says “And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.” When we pray according to His will—according to His Word—we’re heard and we’re answered. This is a very important factor for us to learn about prayer. Some people, while praying, just talk, and don’t care whether or not what they’re saying is in line with the Word of God.

For example, if you said to me, “Give me such and such,” you’ve made a request without being

sure whether I’m going to give it to you. However, if I made a promise to give it to you, you’ll have faith to make that request. God already gave His Word, to show us everything that He’s given to us, everything that He’s made us, and everything that we can do in Christ Jesus.

Moreover, He has also revealed to us how to ask; how to pray and what our requests can cover. Therefore, you can have faith when you pray to God, and your faith grows as you learn the Word of God. The more of God’s Word you know, the more faith you’ll have. Romans 10:17 says “…faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”

Anyone can pray in the Name of Jesus, and also say something that’s covered by the Word of

God, but these alone don’t guarantee results. That’s why some pray, but nothing happens, while some others say the same words and miracles take place. The first set of people spoke words that weren’t energized, communicated, inspired, and anointed by the Holy Spirit. As a result, they didn’t get what they asked for; their words were not powered by the Spirit.

I‘ve taught you two principles on prayer in our two previous lessons: “Praying In The Authority Of His Name” and “Praying By The Authority Of The Word,” yet, it’s so important that you make your requests by the power of the Holy Spirit. These three elements combine to make our prayer lives effective. The power of the Holy Spirit is the missing element in many people’s lives, and they wonder why their prayers aren’t as effective as they should be. In Ephesians 5:18-19, the Apostle Paul tells us, “And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the

When you’re filled with the Spirit, you’ll bring the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit to bear on your words, and they’ll be impregnated with divine power! The anointing has to be on your words. That is what makes the difference. At the Healing School, for example, when we minister to the sick in the Name of Jesus, and on the basis of what the Word says, we do so by the power of the Holy Spirit. No wonder astounding healing miracles take place at every healing session.

He died on the cross, and to confirm He was truly dead, a soldier thrust a spear through His side, causing blood and water to gush out. Suddenly, the rocks began to crack; the earth heaved and quaked, and darkness eclipsed the earth for three hours. Jesus was dead!

In Genesis 12:2 God spoke to Abraham and said, “…I will make of thee a great nation,

Having been born again, you’re the seed of Abraham and that means not only are you blessed, you’re also a blessing. God wants others to benefit from your blessing. He already said to Abraham, “…in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed...” Therefore, it’s your calling to be a blessing to your world; it’s your inheritance to effect positive changes in this world! At the beginning of the year, the Lord said to us that 2014 is our “Year of Greatness.”

There’re certain things you have to know to function in greatness as the Lord has said. One of them is holding fast to instructions. Heeding divine instructions is an integral path to greatness.

Joshua 3 tells us how the Israelites camped by the Jordan, waiting to cross the river. There, God spoke to Joshua, Moses’ successor, who was charged with the task of leading the children of Israel into the Promised Land. The Lord said to him, “…This day will I begin to magnify thee in the sight of all Israel, that they may know that, as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee” (Joshua 3:7). Then, in the very next verse, He gave Joshua an important instruction: “And thou shalt command the priests that bear the ark of the covenant, saying, When ye are come to the brink of the water of Jordan, ye shall stand still in Jordan” (Joshua 3:8).

Proverbs 4:13 says, “Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: keep her; for she is thy life.” Often times, God’s instructions may not sound logical, just

Isaac heeded and prospered in that land, in the same year of drought and famine. Genesis 26:13 tells us that he waxed great, made progress, grew until he became very great. He prospered so much that the Philistines envied him. God’s ways are different from man’s ways and that’s why it’s important to listen and follow His instructions and counsel. Never try to reason out His instructions in your head, for His wisdom is greater than man’s wisdom. 1 Corinthians 1:25 tells us, “…the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.” Think about that.

There’re certain thoughts I like to describe as the “thinkings” of God; the way He reasons.

He doesn’t think the way men do, so, it’s important to know how He thinks and why He thinks the way He does. What are the thoughts on His mind? Of course, when you look in the Word of God, you can get the answer to this question.

For instance, humans think that morning and evening make one day. They think the day starts when they wake up in the morning, and ends when they go to sleep at night; but God thinks differently. Every time the Word of God made direct reference to a full day, God would always say “evening and morning.” For example, in Genesis 1:5, God said, “…And the evening and the morning were the first day.” He doesn’t relate from light to darkness. Rather, He thinks from darkness into light; from evening into morning (read Genesis 1:8, 13, 19, 23, 31).

No wonder He says, “But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day” (Proverbs 4:18). Observe He didn’t say, “But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more from morning into evening.” Men think that the day ends with evening, but God

1 timothy 4:15; Isaiah 55:8-9

says, “No; your day goes into morning!” isn’t that wonderful! He reasons so differently; and we’re the ones who need to come up to His ways of thinking.

If you’re born again, you’re born of His Spirit. Then, the Bible says, “If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit” (Galatians 5:25). We’re not only born of the Spirit, but have also been called to walk in the realms of the Spirit of God. To do this, we have to be spiritually minded. Our thinking has to become the “thinkings” of God; it has to be on the level of the Word of God, not on the ordinary plane of life. We need to learn and meditate on His Word so that we can capture His thoughts and His ways of doing things. 1 Corinthians 2:14-16 says, “…we have the mind of Christ.” Therefore, it’s possible for us to reason at the same frequency with Him.

What Paul communicates in our opening verse is different from saying “Christ Jesus

has made me wise.” Through the Holy Spirit, he communicated a deeper truth, which is that Christ Jesus is made unto you wisdom. He didn’t just make you wise, He’s your wisdom. How big this is! It means your capacity is now the wisdom of Christ; your wisdom reservoir is Christ, so you could never lack wisdom. The question then is, “how do you activate the wisdom of God in you?”

First, you have to study the Scriptures. If you don’t know the Scriptures, you can’t activate the wisdom of God. The Bible says, “Deep calleth unto deep…” (Psalm 42:7). So, the more of God’s Word you have in you, through intense study and meditation, the more connection you’ll have with the wisdom of God. If you don’t deposit the wisdom of God in you (and the Word of God is the wisdom of God), you won’t know how to tap into it when there’s a need.

1 Corinthians 2:12-13 says “Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but

which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.” To have the wisdom of God released in your life, you must declare that you have, and operate in, the wisdom of God. You must speak the wisdom of God. If you ever find yourself in a fix, then say, “Lord, thank you for your wisdom that’s in me to handle this situation.”

Life will be easy and sweet when you take advantage of the wisdom of God for every situation. When you face challenges, ask yourself, “What’s the wisdom of God concerning this matter?” and then go into sessions of meditation on the Scriptures and praying in tongues. As you do, wisdom will come to you, and propel you to say or do what is exactly right to put you over in that situation. Christ has been made unto you wisdom to excel, reign and win every day in life. Have this consciousness.

What a profound scripture. It says, besides wisdom, righteousness, and redemption

(riddance), Christ is also made sanctification to us. The word “sanctification” refers to the act or process of making holy or setting apart unto God for His eternal purpose. It’s translated from the Greek word “hagiasmos,” which means, “a purifier.” So, the sanctifier has come to live in you. Christ is not there trying to sanctify you; no! He has sanctified you, and continues to sanctify everything you do. He’s your separator; He has separated you from the rest of the world, from sin and evil, unto the glorious liberty of the sons of God.

Yesterday, we learnt about activating wisdom by speaking wisdom; in the same way, you’re also required to speak your sanctification, that is, words that cleanse. That’s why the Apostle Paul said, “For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving: For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer” (1 Timothy 4:4-5). You can purify or sanctify anything that belongs to you

As we speak, people are purified; they’re cleansed, and moved from one level of glory to another! 1 Corinthians 2:13 says, “Which things also we speak….” We’ve got to keep speaking words of blessings, to cleanse and sanctify our environment and our world.

You’ve been called to an extraordinary life of beauty, of glory, and of a supernatural walk with God, because Christ—the sanctifier—is in you! He’s one with your spirit now (1 Corinthians 6:17); and through you, He’s carrying out His ministry of sanctifying all things to Himself.

Believing in the Lord Jesus means you can’t live for yourself anymore, but for Him. This

understanding informed the Apostle Paul’s statement in our opening verse. When you were born again, you were actually crucified with Christ; you died in Him, and the life you have now isn’t yours, for He bought you with a price (1 Corinthians 6:20, 1 Corinthians 7:23).

2 Corinthians 5:14-15 says, “For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead. And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.” Having this mind-set will help you set your priorities right as a Christian. Being a Christian is more than being blessed by God or having all the nice things in the world; that’s living for oneself. Mark 8:36-37 says, “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?”

Live For Him!

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith

of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me (Galatians 2:20).

Galatians 5:24; Matthew 10:39

In other words, why would you want to live a life that profits you nothing before the Lord?

Refuse to be distracted or carried away by the world’s symbols of prosperity; live for the Lord and be committed to fulfilling His will for your life. Colossians 3:2 says, “Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.” The things that should matter to you in this life should be things pertaining to the Gospel. In Galatians 6:14, the Apostle Paul made a very inspiring statement; he said, “But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.”

Like the Apostle Paul, consider that you’re dead to this world, and the world is dead to you. Therefore, you shouldn’t live for yourself any more but for the Lord, because you died in Him.

1 Peter 2:9 says, “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar

people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light.” A literal reading of this verse would give an impression of the new creation as one who was called out of darkness into God’s marvelous light, meaning he had a past of darkness. This, however, isn’t true as the new creation in Christ Jesus never existed before, and therefore has no past.

The idea of the new creation having a past is mostly common amongst Christians, who look at it from the standpoint of “Once, I was a sinner, and now I’m a saint; once I was under the power of Satan, but now I’m free to serve God.” However, as you grow in the knowledge of the Word of God, you’ll discover that when you were born again, you weren’t taken from the hands of Satan and put in the hands of God; you’re actually a new creation. You’re not the man that was in the darkness; that man actually died with Christ. You were born into His marvellous light.

Observe our opening verse closely. Notice it didn’t say, “Thou art my son; this day have I raised thee back to life” no! It says, “Thou art my son; this day have I begotten thee,” meaning, “…this day I have given birth

to you.” It wasn’t a continuation of the old life. When Jesus died, He died in the spirit, that’s why He’s called the first begotten from the dead (Revelation 1:5), not the first to be raised from the dead.

The Apostle Paul declared in 2 Corinthians 5:17, “…if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature.” Being born again, you’re a new creation; a new species—recreated in Christ Jesus and brought into a newness of life: “Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life” (Romans 6:4). No wonder the Bible says in Colossians 3:10, “…put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him.”

The Bible says that God knows what’s in your heart; He knows what you need, even before

you ask Him (Matthew 6:8). Now, if He knew your requests before you asked, it means He also already had the answer prepared. However, He requires your faith to make that answer real to you. The responsibility to receive is yours. Faith isn’t just based on asking, but also on receiving. Mark 11:24 says, “Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.”

Many know how to ask, but they don’t know how to receive. At the point of asking in prayer, you’re to believe that you’ve received what you’ve asked for; that’s faith! But if you’re hoping that God will answer your prayer someday, that won’t work, even though you believe it. So take possession now; declare that the healing, blessing or miracle you desire is yours now! Faith receives now! You say, “Father, I’ve asked for such-and-such, and I receive it NOW in the Name of Jesus.”

Remember that you don’t have to see what you’ve

received with your physical eyes first to know they’re already yours; once you’ve taken possession with your spirit, soon enough, they’ll show up physically. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, and the title deed of unseen realities. In other words, faith calls real and done that which you hope for. Hebrews 11:1 says, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” That means the things you hoped for are now your present-hour possessions.

Faith doesn’t try to get something to happen; rather, faith knows and accepts that it has happened, and confesses and endorses it to be so now. Faith takes possession NOW!

The only material given to you to build your life is God’s Word. There’s no hope for anyone

who ignores the Word, for the Word of God is life. Proverbs 13:13 says, “Whoso despiseth the word shall be destroyed: but he that feareth the commandment shall be rewarded.” To ignore the Word is to set one’s self up for extreme disadvantage in life.

Hosea 4:6 says, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge….” You need the knowledge of the Word to be effective in life and know all that’s been made available to you in Christ Jesus. Acts 20:32 says, “And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.” There’s no other way: the Word of God is the only means through which faith—the God-kind of faith—can be imparted to your spirit.

Every Christian must open his heart to hear and receive the Word. Our opening verse admonishes that we “…receive with meekness the engrafted word….” Those who ignore the Word have their joy short-

In the Old Testament, God gave the Israelites several commandments, which they had to

obey as a condition for enjoying the blessings of the covenant. However, when Jesus came, He brought in a new commandment, which is love. He said, “A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another” (John 13:34). He gave this commandment before His crucifixion. He commanded His disciples to love one another because love, for them, was an outside force. Thus, He had to give them a law to walk in love.

But then, the Bible tells us something striking in 1 Timothy 1:9, that “…the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers....” Now, after giving His disciples the love commandment, He proceeded to die on the cross for us, and God raised Him back to life. “…Thou art my Son, today have I begotten thee” (Hebrews 5:5). Today, everyone who believes in Him receives eternal life, and becomes a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17).

It’s Your Nature To Love

John 15:12; romans 13:10

In Him, we’ve been made the righteousness of God (2 Corinthians 5:21), so the law isn’t applicable to us because it was made for the unrighteous, but we are righteous. By making us new creations, He made it possible for us to receive the Holy Spirit, and the Bible says, “…the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us” (Romans 5:5). Love isn’t alien to us; it’s not an outside force; it’s our nature to love.

If you’re born again, you’re born of love; the Father has deposited His love in your heart; therefore, you can love the same way He does, for it’s your nature to love.

“I first came in contact with Rhapsody of Realities and Christ Embassy in 2006. I was very ill at the time and was about eighty percent paralysed. Someone came to pray for me and he taught me through Rhapsody of Realities about the power of God’s Word; this was my first direct encounter with the Word. That year, as I went through the devotional, things began to change drastically. It became possible for me to hear the Lord speaking to me directly. My life and health improved steadily, and now I’m healed. The doctors can’t believe I was the same person that came back then so sick and incapacitated.”

“Before I came in contact with Rhapsody of Realities, ministry was very hard for me. I used to fast and pray a lot, but nothing seemed to change. When I got the devotional and studied it, I realized that most of my prayers were out of ignorance. Rhapsody of Realities has changed my life 360 degrees. My finances have improved tremendously and ministry is a lot easier because I have a clear understanding of God’s word. My church membership has grown; we now have several branches, and all my church members are subscribers of Rhapsody of Realities.”
