The ultimate goal of winning thewar against online predators is toreduce the risk of being a victim. Inorder to accomplish this effectively, itis important to remove opportunitiesfor a criminal to take advantage of youor your children. Our children are ournation’s most valuable asset. Theyrepresent the bright future of ourcountry and hold our hopes for abetter nation. Protecting our childrenagainst the fear of crime and frombecoming victims of crime must be anational priority.

- Know exactly what your child isdoing on their mobile device or homecomputer.

-Ensure you the parent are up todate on social networking sites andnew lingo being used.

-Do not post personal informationon the Internet that you would notwant the whole world to know.

- Know both the benefits and risksof the world wide web. Such as it isthe world’s largest library but alsochildren are exposed to adult sites.

- Educate your children aboutonline predators and that if they havequestions they can ask you questions.

-Ensure the computer they areusing is in an open area, not in abedroom or in a secluded area.

-If something doesn’t seem right,do not hesitate and make sure it getsreported to the Law EnforcementDesk.

- Bottom line is just educate yourchildren on the risks of onlinepredators and useful tips of avoidingcircumstances that may arise.
