leaders committee. “To use a running analogy it’s now time to settle into our pace and run the marathon.”

So far, the campaign has raised more than $552,000 for the Buckskin Boosters’ vision to renovate the district’s stadium complex. Plans call for replacing the outdated home-side bleachers and press box, adding concession space, renovating visitor side bleachers and installing synthetic turf.

The capital campaign is designed to benefit the district’s band, field hockey, football, lacrosse, soccer and track and field programs. But it will have wider benefits to area youth sports programs and cultural events.

“This campaign is about providing great facilities for our children for the long-term which will lead to an even better educational experience for years to come,” Meyer said.

Dr. James K. Hayes, CPA ► , now assistant vice president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, holds an MBA in Finance and Accounting and an MPA in Economics and Policy in addition to a doctorate in management. He is also a CPA. He has been inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma, the international honor society for business, and recognized with the Educational Achievement award from the Pittsburgh chapter of the National Black MBA Association.

Lt. Col. Bradley C. Hilton ► continues a 27-year career in the Army and PA National Guard with whom he has served in the Balkans and Iraq. His leadership was recognized when the U.S. Cavalry Troop he commanded in Bosnia was named the top unit of its kind in the Army in 1999. After earning an MBA in Information Systems Management from Baylor University, Hilton volunteered to support the 1st Cavalry Division in Iraq, where the collaborative system he helped implement was officially recognized with saving soldiers’ lives.

Margaret Concannon Miller ► was elected in 2008 as just the third female judge in Lancaster County history. Now presiding in the Lancaster County Court of Common Pleas, she also heads the Mental Health Court, one of the first of its kind. Before joining the bench, Miller was a partner with the Lancaster firm Russell, Krafft & Gruber, LLP. A graduate of West Chester University and Dickinson School of Law, Miller has also been active in community service.

Dr. Randall T. Myers, MD ► , is an emergency medicine physician at Inova Fairfax Hospital in Arlington, Va. He earned acclaim for his work as a hospital physician with Doctors without Borders in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Prior to that experience, he was an assistant professor in the department of emergency medicine at the University of New Mexico. Myers earned his medical doctorate from the University of Virginia—where he was class president of the medical school.

CV distinguished alumni are chosen by a committee of current and retired CV administrators, faculty and staff. This year’s inductees have all reached leadership positions in their careers or made significant contributions to their profession. Additionally, all have strong character and have been involved in community service.

CV launched its distinguished alumni program during the 2007-08 school year with the celebration of the school district’s 50th anniversary.

CVSD is currently taking nominations for 2013-14 distinguished alumni.

CV Drama Goes “Legally Blonde”Pop musical runs April 12-14

And now for something completely different.

The CVHS drama department is making quite a leap from a conniving turn-of-the-century “Music Man” to a hip, like, totally modern sorority girl-turned-lawyer in “Legally Blonde: The Musical.”

The story is based on the novel of the same name and 2001 film starring Reese Witherspoon as Elle Woods, who enrolls in Harvard Law School to win back her ex-boyfriend Warner. The musical debuted on Broadway in 2007.

The show runs April 12-14 in the CVHS auditorium. A special showing for senior citizens with a Gold Card will be held Thursday, April 11.

CV’s production stars Allison Groff as Elle and Kyle Rodgers as Warner, David Geyer as Emmett, a lawyer who helps Elle realize her potential, and Geyer’s dog, L. “Bruiser,”

who the Geyers adopted from the Lancaster SPCA.

Members of the audience who make a donation to the SPCA at one of the performances will receive a coupon for free concessions.

“Legally Blonde” is directed by Jill Gagliano, assisted by choreographer Travis Love (CV class of ‘05), pit director Chris Smucker (‘08), vocal director Susie Lee, technical director Dave Keefer and costume designer Bev Robinson.

Show times are 7 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets can be purchased online by clicking the link below.
