Shared moments of information and inspiration about our church family
Prelude “Beneath the Cross of Jesus” arr. Barbara B. Kinyon
(Glade Tower Handbell Choir) *Processional Hymn “Y ou Are the Way” #40
*Call to Worship (Select verses from Psalm 84)
L: How lovely is your dwelling place, O Lord of hosts!
P: My soul longs, indeed it faints for the courts of the Lord;
my heart and my flesh sing for joy to the living God.
L: Happy are those whose strength is in God.
P: They are the ones who go from strength to strength.
L: For a day in God’s courts is better than a thousand elsewhere.
P: I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of God than live in
the tents of wickedness. *Prayer of Invocation (Offered by All)
God of the living and the dead, we confess that sometimes we are more dead
than alive to the possibilities you place before us. In the midst of pain,
unfairness, and destructive forces on all sides, we see little hope. We find it
hard to discern a role for ourselves in working for a better world; we seem
powerless to change even that little part of the planet where we live. God, we
want to find that new life which triumphs over death and the grave. Forgive
our dullness and grant us new vision and vitality. In Jesus’ name we pray.
Amen.

Sharing our Joys and Concerns
Leader : The Lord be with you.
People: And also with you.
Leader: Let us pray… Silent Prayer Prayer The Prayer Jesus taught Us
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil,
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory,
forever. Amen.

Communion Prayer (Offered by All)
Everlasting God, we join with your church in all times and places to thank you
for creating us in your image, caring for us who are only human, When we
marred your image through sin, you mercifully did not hold it against us, but
gave of yourself sacrificially in Christ Jesus that we may become like him.
Formed into the body of Christ we praise you for restoring us to the joy of
your salvation. Nourished by holy food and drink from Christ’s table,
strengthen us by your Spirit to present ourselves to the world as living
sacrifices, holy and acceptable to you. And, so, it is with grateful hearts that
we sing…

The Second Mile Recipient for March
One Great Hour of Sharing
Where there is water….. The One Great Hour of Sharing offering this year focuses on
the unclean water problems around the world. In a rural
community in Cambodia, the only water available was from a
shallow, hand-dug well. Each day during the rainy season, a
grandmother name Som Bee would walk to the well to collect the water
for her family. But the water from the well was unclean, sometimes
leading to health problems, including diarrhea. Because of your
support, the community now has access to clean water year-round, and
they are sick less often. Your support has reached 16 villages in central
Cambodia with clean safe water. Now, you are with Som each time she
leaves her home and only walks a matter of yards to the well. You are
here when she waters her garden and prepares nutritious meals. You are
here as her granddaughter grows healthy and strong.
You are here. And their future is brighter because of your support.
Can you sing, act, dance, tell jokes or otherwise
entertain? If so, please share your talent with us
during the youth sponsored Talent Show. The
Talent Show will be immediately following
worship on Sunday April 30th. For any questions
or to sign-up for a spot in the show, please
contact/text Christy Yingling at 410-207-2241 or
We will have our annual Palm Sunday breakfast next Sunday April 9th at
9:15 during the education hour. Please bring your favorite breakfast dish,
orange or other fruit juice to share. Coffee and tableware will be provided.
