April 15, 2017 Dear UNCG Clarinet Studio, Here are the bass clarinet excerpts for the 2017 fall ensemble audition. Happy practicing! • All bass clarinetists please prepare the included movements from Bach Cello Suite #1: Minuet 1 and Minuet 2 General advice about this audition: 1) Please allow enough time to get back in shape with fundamentals after the summer break, probably at least 2-3 weeks. 2) Listen to recordings of these pieces when available. For excerpts, know the standard tempo for each piece, the scoring of the rest of the orchestra and the clarinet part’s role in that texture. Take the time to do this, listen often, and be thorough.
