Food for Faith Living from the desk of Fr. Mark Because our Lord’s Resurrection is the heart of a living faith, the church celebrates an entire season centering on the post-resurrection revelations experienced by the Apostles and disciples. We see our human condition expressed clearly as they felt joy, fear, bewilderment, doubt, disbelief and wonder. It is only through these times spent with them that Jesus brings them to understand the meaning and purpose of His life and its fulfillment through the Mystery of the Cross, a brutal death which leads to a Risen Life! This is His glory and ever leaves the human family in awe and wonder, a truth beyond comprehension! We come to understand its meaning the same way the Apostles did: it takes Jesus Himself and the gift of the Holy Spirit to pierce our darkness and confusion. It is the process of reaching the conviction of believing in this mystery, God’s eternal, unconditional and intimate love for each and every member of the human family past, present and future! So, we are invited to understand because we are free to do otherwise. God’s respect for us is expressed in giving us freedom. Only when we come to a realization and appreciation of God’s love do we see the wisdom of God: we had to be free to achieve this; otherwise, it wouldn’t mean a thing! This isn’t something which happens on its own. The foolish take it for granted and settle for knowing the answers to questions and obeying the rules of ritual religion. They have neither opened their hearts and minds to God’s Spirit in order to understand what believing calls us to do and be. This truth is found in every appearance of Jesus: recall Thomas and his doubts. He sees and believes! Jesus says: “Blessed are they who have not seen and have believed.” That’s you and me and countless millions,. This week’s Gospel brings this to light in another fashion. Peter and the others return home and resume their livelihood as fishermen. Jesus appears, asks about their catch and tells them to cast their nets anew: They catch a net full! In so doing, they realize: “It’s the Lord!” They are in awe and silent while sharing breakfast. Jesus speaks to Peter: “Do you love Me?” Peter responds to the question asked again and again with a ‘yes’. When Jesus invites Peter to follow Him, He said he’d catch people, not fish. Now He sends Peter and all out into the world to “feed His sheep”, all those of us who follow the Good Shepherd! Like them, we are invited to share the Lord’s table and to go forth living our faith and hope by our freely choosing to love each other. Do we believe?

ALTAR & ROSARY We are having our February meeting this weekend. We start at the 9:00 am Mass & Corporate Communion and meet in the Hall after Mass. We will be collecting dues at this meeting. Please join us as we will also be taking nominations for the election of our officers'. CELEBRATING THE COMPLETION OF OUR RENOVATION Please join our celebration in the Hall on Saturday, April 20th, from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm. We will be celebrating the fact that our renovation is completed and that we are back in the Church. We hope this will be a well attended function and hope that everyone will have a wonderful time. CORRECTION! In the April edition of the ‘Andiamo’ it states that there will be an unveiling of our renovated Church. Instead we will have a celebration on April 20th in the Hall from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm.. RESPECT LIFE We pray to the Lord for all shepherds of religious congregations to support, in word and deed, the right to life. STVP Parish offerings for March were $706 and the Lenten soup $47.71. Another $76 for Lenten Soup was deposited early April. Rent/Motel made up expenses of $1,201.98. We cannot ‘thank you’ enough for your monetary assistance. Volunteers that work with the poor deal with a multitude of issues and, of necessity, must make difficult on-the-spot decisions. There is never enough money but an abundance of frustration. For each client assisted, many are turned away with only referrals. All agencies have this problem. We also need your prayers!

ACA The Archdiocese Collection for the Archbishop’ Catholic Appeal (ACA) is in full swing. You should receive your information packet in the mail soon. Please pray over your potential contribution. May God bless you for your consideration. Black & Indian Missions & Catholic Home Missions are collected on April 21st. Please be as generous as possible. May God Bless You for your kindness.
