APRIL 11, 2021
FROM OUR PASTOR, FR. TROHA
Paige Layla Sabo
Mark Augustine Strand
Our celebration of Easter last weekend was in marked
contrast to the Easter celebration of one year ago. All of
the churches were shut down last year at that time due to
the Covid pandemic. Our Easter Vigil last year was
celebrated by me and Fr. McNeil and Deacon Paul Hlabse.
This past weekend we had a full congregation at all three
Masses. It was really half-full due to the Covid
restrictions which are still in place for large gatherings.
The total attendance for the three Masses was over 700
people. I do want to offer special thanks to Maureen Hogan and her group
of hard workers for decorating the church so beautifully. I also want to
thank Michael Kelley for the wonderful job of continuing our music
ministry with the cantors and some choir members. Our ushers and greet-
ers also deserve our thanks for carrying on their welcoming ministry amidst
the restrictions too. I think that we have one of the best if not the best
group of ushers in the entire diocese. They always perform their duties well
-dressed and in a most courteous manner. And I am grateful that so many
parishioners came to Mass for Easter Sunday. I think I speak for all of us
who serve at the altar that it was very special for us to have a full
congregation to pray with.
This Sunday we celebrate the 2
nd
Sunday of Easter. It is also known as
Sunday of Divine Mercy as Saint Pope John Paul II inaugurated this feast.
In past years it was also called Low Sunday to distinguish it from the previ-
ous Sunday, Easter. Fr. McNeil will be leading the special devotions for
Divine Mercy Sunday beginning at Noon and the final prayers will take
place at 3:00pm. A plenary indulgence can be gained by those who attend
the devotion along with fulfilling the usual conditions to gain the
indulgence.
Bishop Malesic sent out a letter a few weeks ago in regard to the
pandemic. He points out how we have all been “stretched beyond
imagination and frustrated by the limitations of the past year.” He
continues to say, “God gave us what we needed, especially in the most
di=cult times. God remains a steadfast help in time of need.” But then
he reminds us that we are not quite done yet. He states:
“Even though we are beginning to get this pandemic under control, the virus
still remains, and we all need to remain vigilant until that time when masks
are no longer necessary and appropriate social distancing is no longer
expected. The health and safety of everyone, especially those whose
health is compromised in any way, is of extreme importance and these
ordinary means of protecting life have proven to be helpful. Remember
that patience is like all the virtues. It comes with practice. And, if these
limitations and temporary requirements were a great burden to us, they
were also the sufferings that we were able to endure and offer up for
the salvation of souls, our own included.”
Good thoughts from our bishop. If you lack patience, say this prayer: Dear
God, give me patience, and give it to me now! You might make God laugh.
This prayer always make me laugh.
Fr. Troha

RCIA THANK YOU
I would like to express my most sincere thank you to the parishioners of
Immaculate Conception Church for your prayerful support of our brothers
and sisters, Patricia Meadows, Karen Smola, Jennifer Caretti, Ryan Hill and
Joseph Pitts who entered the Catholic Church and our parish community
through the Sacraments of Initiation; and Rebecca Doles, who entered into
full communion with the Catholic Church and our parish community. Please
keep them in prayer as they enter life in the Catholic Church! A special
gratitude also to the godparents whose example and guidance helped lay
a solid faith foundation for our new Catholics!
I also want to say thank you to Fr. Troha for his trust in me to continue to lead
the RCIA Ministry, as well as the o=ce staff for their generous administrative
support.
Finally, if you know someone who is looking into the Catholic faith or who has
been baptized and needs to receive the Sacraments of Eucharist and/or
Confirmation, please have them contact the o=ce, and we will be sure to get
into contact with them.
God bless! Easter blessings to all!
- Deacon Paul
EMPLOYER MATCHING FUNDS
A heartfelt “thank you” to our parishioners that have taken part in their
employer gift matching to benefit Immaculate Conception Church. Your kind
generosity is greatly appreciated!
Progressive Foundation will match its employee’s offertory donations, and
local business such as Lubrizol have gift matching programs that have been
used to match donations to Sponsor-A-Student and Collection for the Needy,
which funds our Society of Mother Therese meal program and parish food
bank programs. If you are a retiree of or currently employed by a business
that offers charitable gift matching as an employee benefit, won’t you please
consider using this benefit to increase your support to Immaculate Concep-
tion. Thanks very much!

EASTER 2021
“Peace be with you!” This is
Jesus’ greeting to his fear-
ful apostles when he appeared to them after his
resurrection. They were afraid and hid them-

reassured them of his peace. Today, the same
Risen Lord wants to take away our fear and
bring us peace. May we have the courage to let
go of our fear and open our hearts and homes to
the Prince of Peace!

DIVORCED AND SEPARATED MINISTRY
The Divorced and Separated for Catholics, an 8 - Week
Support Group designed to meet the needs of those who
are divorced or separated will begin Thursday, April 8 and
conclude on May 27. The group meets in-person at
Immaculate Conception from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm in the

feelings of isolation are common. Our goal is to provide a place where we can share,
support and encouragement while offering direction and guidance for those that are
struggling with separation/divorce. Sessions are tailored to meet the needs of the
participants and provide the tools for coping and moving on. For more information or
to register, please call Karen at 440-352-8282 or email [email protected].
There is no charge for this program, all materials are provided, and it is open to people
of all faiths.
